Ok,

I'm a late comer to all ME games. Just googled "game with best plot" and started from the ground up a few weeks ago. Just started numero tres...

Please tell me that there are more than the hospital and the extemely dumbed down presidium to explore. I saw some mention of some DLC... I'm really hoping EA didn't pull it's typical money grubbing maneuvers by making me pay even more f$%# money for content that any decent develepor who cared about more than an extra buck would include in the price of the game.

Maybe I get to see more of it after a few missions? Or is that asking too much from the two year running "Worst Company in America"?

At first, only 2 "floors" of the Citadel are available, but it opens up to 5-6 (IIRC). If you buy the Citadel DLC, you also get access to a Vegas-type area with an arcade, casino, combat arena, bar, apartment, etc. aside from the mission/arc and party.

It lacks the wide-open feel of ME1's Citadel, but yes, at least there is more than just the hospital and presidium you get during your first visit.

You get to go to the presidium, refugee docks, hospital, and purgatory bar.

You also get the silver sun strip with Citadel DLC.

And its funny because the citadel is still better than what it was in ME2.

Plus there are many conversations that you can listen in on.

and finally, there is a mission in the story that involves the citadel. Wont spoil it

The Citadel changes a lot throughout the game, and various sections become available by advancing through the game. The Citadel DLC is developed after the game was released, so they're not really withholding Citadel content from you. The Citadel DLC itself is completely separate from the main game in every single aspect you can think of, even the tone of the DLC is different. With that being said, it's considered the best DLC for many people here so get it if you can.

Plus as you advance the game your crew members will show up in different places on the Citadel and you can talk to them and listen in to what is going on which adds to the imersion.  If you completed some side missions or talked to certain people in the previous games they may also show up on the Citadel which can add more back story.
