Would it be awesome if one of the inquisitors origin's story was that he is a grey warden?

Since we're probably only getting one background per race/class combo, I don't think it'll happen.

I think we're done having wardens as protagonists.

And afterwards, do you give the Inquisitor the Warden's appearance and name so you can pretend they're the same character?

Stop living in the past, man.

Even if he does, why do you care?

Naw.... Grey Wardens are cool and all, but they're purpose is to fight the Blight and Darkspawn... I think the Inquisition is going to be more about Magic (Blood Magic particularly) and probably the Tevinter Imperium.

That said, a Grey Warden companion wouldn't be horrible.

At least until the next blight.

I wonder how they manage to keep their initiation rite so super secret with all the ex-wardens running about.

It should be impossible to keep secret even with just the current wardens running about. It's not like they do security clearance checks before they join. The entire thing seems to be managed by a gentleman's agreement.

No thanks. This would skew the inquisitor's bias, as he would be a member of both the Grey Warden faction and the Inquisition faction. The inquisitor shouldn't be bound or affiliated with any faction that they don't choose to.

Now, if the inquisitor meets the Wardens half-way through the game, and the player is given the choice to join the wardens, I do think that might be a cool option.

Umm, I really don't like the fixation people have with the Grey Wardens. They aren't supermen/women, at best they are just a handful of lucky or healthy individuals who sentence themselves to a slow death for the advantage of being able to ease drop on Dark Spawn. It's not like say the Templars who have a actual specialization, or training regiment that develops a person into something more than a guy with a sword, and if anyone says, "But the warden from DA:O was awesome." I will point out they were awesome and would have been awesome even if they didn't become a Warden, they already had the potential to do everything they did as a warden before hand, save killing the archdemon permenantly.

No I don't hate the Wardens, but I do no like their fates and I'm happy development is kind of moving away from such a one note type of order/factions. Since Blights only happen every 400+ years or so it really does say a good deal about what type of adventures a Warden could have when considering lore.

I hope unlike the Wardens being a Inquistor and those you allow to join the order also comes with its own unique talents, as well as a over all flexible purpose.

I don't think you can leave the warden organization without being constantly hunted by former comrades because you know one of their most heavily guarded secret that is the joining.

Alistair left, the Warden Commander can leave, Velanna probably left, Anders left, Fiona left, Utha left.

And nobody seems to care. You can even talk at several points about what you'll do when you leave.

Alstair's king, warden's on secret mission, Velanna who?, Anders is a fugitive on the run (you bet a lot of people "care"), again Utha?

It doesn't matter that Alistair is a king, he's still a warden.

If you don't know who Velanna, Utha, or Fiona are, I'm not sure you're well equipped for the discussion. Velanna and Utha could be excused as on the run. But Fiona is out in the open and the wardens simply do not care.

Anders meets several wardens again in Dragon Age 2 and they never make a move against him.

When you play Awakening and you speak to Mistress Woozee or whatever her name is, she tells you that the First Warden is very interested in the implications of Wardens as Nobleman and Heads of State which is why he is so particularly interested in the Arling of Amaranthine. Ultimately wanting the world to know Wardens can be considered important even when there isn't a blight. It gives the impression that people tend to ignore the Wardens after a few decades when the fear of Darkspawn on the surface seems to dwindle.
