From comments i got it felt prudent to change this topic to more of a question.
Would you rather the PC be the one to initate romance with the love interest? rather then the companions, (giving room for flexiblity with such characters as Zeveran and isabela) ?

No, once the word "bisexuality" has been mentioned, it will devolve into the same old argument regardless of the topic. It has happened at least once a week. I'm just waiting to see how fast the thread will go before it gets locked or deleted.

This has already been discussed at length, and first things first; no one was bi in DA2 (except Isabella), they were playersexual. Meaning they were whatever orientation the player was, assuming the player showed interest. Also, sometimes a companion flirting with you is just how they are as a character, it has nothing to do with whether you initiate it or not, and I think that should stay. If it's true to how the character behaves, then yes, have them flirt, just give the player options to turn them down.

In my opinion, this is mostly a good thing, because it opens up as many possible romances to the player as possible, without having to restrict anyone by means of "Oh well sorry you can't romance that lady/dude, they're gay/straight and you happen to be the wrong gender." That would only ****** people off and the Devs would never hear the end of it on the forums.

Gaider has come out a few times (I think) and said how he would love it if they had the time and resources to make LI's who were specifically one sexual orientation, but not only do they not have the time, it would just bother people who wanted to play a specific gender and then were locked out of a romance they really wanted, so in an effort to keep the fans happy, I'm pretty sure the player sexual LI's will return for DA:I. What could happen is maybe a situation like in ME3 With Samantha and Steve, assuming we have a keep that is like a main base we can return to like the Normandy, we might get non companion romances, but...I wouldn't hold my breath.

I don't think that's entirely reasonable.  Flirting doesn't require an intent to consummate.

Now "Stop taking flirt options with people you don't want to ask to have sex with you" is quite reasonable.

It makes much more sense for characters to have static sexual sexual interests that can't be changed just because the player character wills it. Some should be bisexual, but others should be heterosexual or homosexual and not at all interested in the same or opposite sex respectively.

See you all on page 40.  Image IPB

Nah. It's just that this type of thread causes more flame wars than Cerberus threads and mage-templar threads together.

Yeah, because if there's one thing straight people and gay people can agree on hating, it's those filthy, greedy bisexuals, lol

Yeah...I just think that even when you're extremely attractive, it's still really, really, really unlikely that everyone around you, at one point or another, will boldly ask, "Hey, you wanna ****?"

Thats why i said make it so the player flirts first, so that evryone is open to everyone.
And no, i never flirted with Anders or Fenris, but they both propositioned me. As did merill and isabela (yes i understand isabela propositions everyone.
My issue with this is that half my companions tried it on with me. Whats wrong with being the one who starts it rather then the other way around?
Also in situations like with meril i thought it was weird that she did, because she just didnt seem like the kind of character who would out and say it, she seemed more the type to wait for the oter person.

But I mean, when did this happen in DA2? The only companions I had this happen with was Anders, who whined like a man baby when I turned him down, and Isabella, but I was actually trying to romance her. I didn't feel like anyone else, who I was entirely friendly to, was trying to jump my bones. I feel like people overstate this problem a lot...

When my husband was playing Dragon Age 2, he really only encountered that with Anders. While Fenris can be romanced by a male hawke, he doesn't exactly come onto you at all. As a woman, the only woman that came onto me was Isabela :P Merrill didn't even seem to notice or be attracted.

And in Origins, it's easily avoidable. While characters in Mass Effect (except for Kaidan's strange... switch in Mass Effect 3) are one or the other. I prefer how it's done in Mass Effect.

Hey, this is a game. A fantasy game. And by fantasy I mean my PC has a body formed from a hybrid of heroic combat and erotic fantasy.

Men and women alike see my PC and are overcome with a rush of lust. My PC need not put effort into seduction. It is automatic and instantaneous. No NPC can resist my PC's inherent charisma!

Also I'd like to point out that they all did it when my sister & and best bro (varric) was around.
Also Varric doesn't tease them for it later which is disappointing... Although i suppose it would be mean for him to tease them all after getting rejected
