I have several hobbies.Playing rpg video games is one, obviously .Another one is reading about and watching movies and tv shows about criminal profilers and serial killers .I know. I can see some of my detractors on the BSN saying they knew it.Rotfl.Of course I am a big fan of the show Criminal Minds on CBS.I loved Silence of the Lambs and the other Hannibal Lecter books and movies.A few years back I had the honor of meeting John Douglas who helped start the FBI's criminal profile division at Quantico. That was very exciting to hear him speak and to get to talk to him about some of the cases he had worked on including the Green River Killer case and the Jon Benet Ramsey case.Since then I've had opportunities to talk to FBI agents and US Postal inspectors about cases their agencies have worked on.
I am looking for a good website where I can discuss cases with like minded people who share interest in this as well as have discussions with others about unsolved cases..

I'm not familiar with how U.S. postal inspectors work on criminal cases. Can you explain?

I'm also a fan of Criminal Minds. While I think some of their visualizations and oversimplification of the science is a little hokey, I find it to be an entertaining show with a good cast (as of season 1, anyway). I'm looking forward to subsequent seasons and seeing actors who I know are introduced later, especially Paget Brewster, and disappointed because it looks like Lola Glaudini is no longer with the cast after season 2 or so. JJ Cook seems to have disappeared too.

Despite my love of the series, I can only take so many episodes at a time since it can get pretty dark. Heck, it's why Mandy Patinkin left the show for something a little more heroic like Homeland.

My weakness is for unsolved and cold cases, particularly those with a glamorous mystery behind them, like D.B. Cooper, the Black Dahlia or the Taman Shud case.

This is the field my wife worked in for ten years. While I find Criminal Minds entertaining sometimes, she refuses to watch it, as she hates how simplified and hokey it is (and she prefers that her entertainment not be in the slightest way connected to her work). I'm sure there must be some web sites that will cater to what you want, but I don't know of any, unfortunately.

@Mybudge Have you met Mudvayne(band) - Nothing to gein(track eight off of:L.D 50)

Criminal minds is pretty decent up to season three-four in my opinion.to me the show never seemed dark, more advert of shadowing the reasons why someone would do such a thing.thats part of the reason i watched the show, but after so many episodes and reading about actual serial killers.the show kind of hit a wall for me.and became redundant.i will say though they guy from Darma and greg thats on CM does a good job
