Undead might be immune to critical hits but they never have a constitution score better than 10, so their hit points generally aren't very high. A WM is at least as effective at killing undead as an ordinary fighter (minus a few bonus feats). Ki damage works against undead, as does the benefit of the free Superior Weapon Focus feat. Then there are all the beasties that aren't critical-immune that you'll encounter in the official campaigns, that WMs will make short work of.

No offence, but the highlighted sentence is the only one in the paragraph that doesn't totally look like arguing for the sake of it.

WM is and has always been all about critical hits; remove those and the class adds nothing. Not every enemy is immune to crits, but there's a whole lot of them in the official campaigns.

In addition to that, it is also the PRC with the heaviest requisites in the game. You could have invested a class slot, 7 levels (because more than 7 is useless) and 6 feats or so in something which is actually useful against any kind of enemy.

Hence the real sense of accomplishment in qualifying as a WM. Nothing worth achieving is easy.

Besides - a human (or strongheart halfling) fighter can become a WM at level 7. Shadowdancers and Arcane Tricksters are harder to qualify for.

Nonsense. It's got a cool icon.

AND it's got the word 'Master' in it. What more could you want?

If I may digress from my and Arkalezth's traditional Odd Couple routine (I bags being Oscar);

If you're planning on multi-classing a caster then you can do worse than to take the Practiced Spellcaster feat. Especially if you take prestige classes that have spell progression, since apparently there is a bug that makes the feat even more useful than usual.

Instead of 'bug exploitation', I prefer to thing think of it as an 'undocumented feature'. Posted Image

I think I'll be going the RDD route instead since I was able to make a build that dealt more damage that way, in addition too having much higher saves and higher to hit ratio. And since I dont have to deal with the 6 feats that is required for WM, I have some feat slots open, one of which will go to practiced spellcaster.

Though Im still trying out different things. One idea I had was to make a character that included the dual wielding feats. The reason for this was that with a weapon master build, the more crits you can get in a round, the better.( I guess its that way with all melee classes.. but much more so for the WM)

Assuming the weapon master is wielding a falchion(or scimitar), with either keen or overwhelming critical...

... with a single weapon you get 6 attacks, averaging roughly 2.5 crits per round. But with a dual wielding weapon master you get 12 attacks(with perfect two weapon fighting) averaging roughly 5 crits per round. Now imagine that... With Epic divine might...

However trying to fit the amount of feats needed for that kind of build into a spellsword is just about impossible. Especially if you want to retain a considerable amount of spellpower...
