Hey, all 4 people that did that several page off-topic argument between David and the rest of you (you know who you are)? You're all pathetic. All of you are on David's level, all 4 of you went totally off topic to try to one up each other with a stupid flame war. Drop it and get over yourselves, David only derails threads because YOU GUYS enable him to.

Probably isn't helping to bring it up again. Looks like it's over.

You're right though. Best to just ignore him.

Didn't know it was dead.

Admittedly, some stuff was very corny in ME1, but in the opening of ME2 with the Lazarus project it became clear that the overarching story arc was going downhill.

That doesn't mean that ME2 that the ME series died at ME2. The game had a lot of stuff to offer besides the main plot. ME3 reshifted the focus again and even with one game gone to waste storywise I still think the main plot has potential and could easily have been improved (meaning it is not utter crap to begin with). Seriously, look at what the other games give us as main plot: in ME1 you hunt for the conduit which turns out ot be mass relay. So what. In ME2 you hunt down the collectors, which are introduced for, well, no good reason. It does not really make sense for the Reapers to have the collectors acting (I know that the plot got changed, but I bas e my judgement on what is actually there now). ME3 has you gather allies while an ancient superweapon is built, the effect of which we don't know. By itself, the plot is no worse than the one of the previous games. Just the overall presentation is very sloppy. ME2 is deeply appreciated partly because of the design of the final mission. Harbinger, though we don't know a lot about him is credible as Reaper overlord. In ME3 the presentation becomes a bit half assed. We found this superweapon in the mars archive which we have been searching for years just now? If they wanted to use the Mars archives, they could have made the crucible a secret research project tha was found after the first contact war that nobody wnated to build in the alliance because its effect was unknown and arms restriction treaties limited firepower or something like that. The rachni stuff could easily been made optional for those that actually saved the rachni queen. Supplant the catalyst appearance by a Reaper scheme, give him a Reaper voice, have him do this stuff for being a sadistic ****, for having some strange programming by his creators or have them get rid of space faring civilizations simply before they become too powereful and are a match for them or something like that, cut away the synthesis ending and you have got a pretty decent finale. The backbone of the game is actually solid in my opinion.

A new ME game is being made right now, and since with EC some people actually like the ending and for a huge part of the fanbase they are not such a dealbraker any more, I suppose it will be bought and the ME universe will coninue. What do you mean by dead?

Isn't this the funniest thing? It's like half the BSN is simultaneously shrieking to ignore and engage me. Is that not the point of these 'heroism' posts I see around?

You see, this is what happens when people try to use such tactics. (By that I mean posting 'heroism' or somesuch nonsense in reponse to me.) People can't stop using them, because they rely on them. They need them. But they simultaneously realize that they're not getting the desired result of making me (or anyone) invisible or wrong.

For me, it's the characters, general expansion of the world, and better intimidation options (some of that partly the acting, not the writing. Just seems like they had a bit more swagger or something).

Oh no, no, no. I didn't get us here. You did. You and all the other people passing around the little banners, making pointless 'HEROISM!' posts, and of course making silly posts whining about me hours after the fact.

Tell you what. I'll stop right here. And if nobody else says or does anything, it'll end right here.

But that's not going to happen, is it? Because you're dependent. You need those posts. Need them.

Oh I agree, the banners are seriously as pathetic as anything can get. The fact that a forum puts that much importance on annoying a single user is just sad. I definitely do think little of the people with those banners, it's disgusting to do that no matter how annoying the person they're targeting is. Frankly, I think banners like that designed to make fun of another person should be banned, or at least warned.

I don't like you and you do have a bad habit of derailing stuff, but the banners ARE crossing the line.

He deserves it. This is the same guy who despite never having played a single Dragon Age game goes over to the DAI board to argue about his moronic "heroism" and about EDI.

He also once wished death on smudboy for the sin of criticizing Mass Effect.

Take it to messages if you really want to know, I'm not letting you trick me into derailing the thread myself.

I say ME2 is the best.

Same, ME3 had more polished combat and more varied enemies to fight but ME2 was a harder game for me on insanity.

Only because Shepard and Squadmates had laughable health and the latter acted like retards. Its easy to make every game hard with this method.

I've never really had the problem with bad squadmates in my runthroughs, but I've seen the video's and heard the stories. I just get lucky that way.

Or I'm just that good. ME2 Insanity is hard, but it (and really no game I've ever played) has ever been so frustratingly difficult that I can't beat it or throw my controller into the wall. Then again, I'm a pretty slow and methodical player, and I like knowing what my enemies are and what my strengths are. The hardest game I played for SP was probably Halo 3: ODST, mainly for the sheer lack of firepower and health that I had.

I've heard Dark Souls is incredibly hard. I need to try it. I love games that are challenging and difficult.

See, isn't this the funniest thing? Here we have the guy who does nothing but make his little posts of 'gears clone' and 'waifu.' Very obviously nothing but a clown. But then he suddenly turns serious when things turn to me.

You catch this guy at any other time, and he will swear up and down that my posts are funny and he laughs at them. As probably other people will. He'll cling on that fantasy like his life depends on it. Because he needs it. He has nothing else. But put him in one thread with a serious discussion of the BSN's attitude towards me and the ****** in the armor opens up nice and wide.

What is it with all this pitiful bickering?

On topic I thought ME3 was really good, just crippled by a rather weak initial ending that was largely remedied by the Extended Cut. Also some design choices like a rather rudimentary dialouge wheel, auto-dialogue and the continuous stripping of RPG elements. All of which is possible to improve in the next game. It depends on what Bioware does with the next game if I decide whether or not the franchise is dead.

I don't like you because you're confrontational,  generalize a lot, and don't seem to want to actually talk about anything you bring up if people don't agree.

I liked ME2 and I don't think mass effect is dead.

It is no more, it has ceased to be, it is an ex-franchise.

ME2 is better but no, ME3 is a great adventure, both campaign and cooperative and its combat system is simply perfect.
