How about all of you forget about Mass Effect and go pick up Saints Row IV?

Can ... can I pick up SRIV and remember Mass Effect?

What makes the gameplay of ME3 bad?

The horde of bugs that were in the game.

Which bugs?

To name a few:
The ladder bug.
The freeze bug on the last story misson on the Kogan homeworld.
The banshee bug.
The pop eyeing bug.
The sword shattering bug that still thinks that the sword was not shatterd.

has a better story than ME2

But... the ME2 story actually makes sense (Minus the first 20 or so minutes)

And the last twenty or so hours.

Pretty much. I mean, you done goofed when there's almost zero meaningful plot progression from the beginning of Mass Effect 2 to the beginning of Mass Effect 3

That's the overarching result of the whole thing, I agree there, but I also think that it's just terrible internally. It's too jumpy, and a lot of things just don't make sense.

And? Plenty of fictional stories have such processes. I can't think of any that are named after them.

Hey, here's something to think about. Fallout isn't called Fallout because of radiation. It's called Fallout because the word has a different meaning that has thematic importance. Consider that, and perhaps you'll uncover the reason why the story is called Mass Effect.

I'm curious, was this little banner passed out or something? Is everyone part of a group that shares this sort of thing?

It's very flattering. My posts must be incredibly moving if so much effort is being put into discrediting them.

I get what David is saying about titles with dual meanings.

Still trying to figure out exactly why it 's relevant to this little talk, though.

StreetMagic made a comment that 'epic' stories were power fantasies and Mass Effect went wrong in going down that path.

I was pointing out the name of the series clearly indicated that was the intended direction from the beginning.

Dude, it's David. Relevance to the topic is as significant to him as a sand particle is to the universe. :P

*though to be fair, I've been pretty bad about that lately*

It started with my post. I said ME3 upped the ante in how Shepard changed the galaxy's biggest problems, when the previous two games were more lowkey and/or subdued. Or Shepard just seemed like one element to fix certain problems. In ME3 I think it went too far with how quickly you were resolving age old conflicts, with the same TPS and Persuasion check mechanics. I ended the post saying it played into power fantasies. Then David told me that's why it's called "Mass Effect".

Just more of his usual smoke and mirrors when he's losing a debate.

And I didn't say it went wrong. I said it was a good game in it's own right. I just mean it stands out from the other two, and don't like the grand scale compared to those.

I have had 2 copies of this game and the same crap happened. (1 was my own that I sold after EC came out, the other was my mates when the 2nd DLC came out).

Lol @ the banners. I'm totally jelly.

As for the bugs, that doesn't make the actual gameplay bad. That only means that some people have a defective product. I'm talking about the gameplay's actual design, not issues with specific copies.
