Actually, Gaider is a pro-romance in gaming. 
I'm curious to see what they'll choose as the "default romance".

He's the Lead Writer however, so romances, or lack there of, get approved by him. So even though Luke wrote the Aveline "romance" to be a giant **** you to the players who wanted to romance her, David had the final say. Hence my trepidation.

yay - even more so, if they - finally? - manage to get her to look like herself again (like in "Dawn of the Seeker" and DA2)...

why? - because i like her character (at least if she eases up on the mages a little - i mean, my character (who is a mage most of the times) didn't kill her brother, so she has no right IMHO to hate him/her)

Do I really need to add a caveat that the companion must be intended to live through enough of the game to be considered an actual companion?

Not to mention that DLCs don't exactly have romances, so...

Wasn't she involved with that circle mage from Dawn of the Seeker? Because that kiss at the end was the start of something I really liked that guy, too. He was cool, I hope he gets mentioned or is involved somehow.

It'll never work. It'd only be a matter of time before she stabs your favorite book or map. And I doubt anyone will be able to convince her to put down the knife.

She does seem like the obvious choice for a LI and I really, really hope she is, but part of me is anticipating the day when the writers yank her away from potential LI status and give her the Aveline treatment. I will not cry if that happens, mark my words, because we all know tears only make the writers stronger. But my lip will tremble for a week or two...
