You definitely have the wrong definition of weird. I'm certainly am a weird person. But that's not why. 

So you identify with the people in the sweat and penetration threads then? They are weird and you are weird from what you said.

Get real, just because someone might be different from people his age it do not have to mean they are immature kids that are interested in how a character in a video game smells or how if they are able to be penetrated<_< Stop jumping to assumptions to quickly and things might end up better.

Real maturity is not giving a **** what anyone else thinks, and just saying and doing what your gut tells you without caring about the herd mentality.
I think Computron2000 and me can both agree on that.

Some of the people posting in those threads were likely perverts, but I'll bet others were just enjoying the hypothecical discussion.
Sci-fi tends to encourage that kind of thing, being as good sci-fi has at least a loose basis in science.
Since the source material is in itself a "what if" scenario, extrapolating other "what if" scenario's from it is quite natural for people who have a taste for that kind of thinking.

I for one wasn't even remotely offended by either of the two BSN threads in question.
Not particularly interested either, but I don't see the harm.

I don't think anyone here found those threads offensive, just... unusual. Tali's Sweat (aka bsn.txt) is pretty out there, as far as we're concerned, though.

That said, I've seen far worse, so neither of them had any real impact on me.

There's a bit of a difference between discussing a video game on a forum and being interested in a game characters vagina in terms of maturity but no, discussing make belief doomsday machines in a game forum is not a sign of anything really. And its hardly offensive either, seen far worse NSFW stuff on the internet but i will spare you those links.

One person called me a mass murderer for choosing Destroy. His crazy ass Shepard head cannon revolved around Synthesis. Shepard had to unite all of the races including the Reapers to face the real foe in the galaxy.....the Leviathans. Who by the way are your allies.

Another guy was so into Cerburus that they could do no wrong. Slaughtering kids, experimenting on people, indocrination it's all good. He admited he would have done the same thing. His delusional Shepard head canon was centered on rebuilding Cerberus after the breath scene and becoming Miranda's husband. This person REALLY NEEDED to get layed.

Several people on the Story fourms are in a state of clinical depression a year and a half after the game launched. They can't eat or sleep. Why! BioWare! Why! They scream to the sky. They post threads saying I'm so sad. A few days later. I'm so so sad. A few days later I'm so so so sad. Christ eat a bowl of Corn Flakes take a nap and GET OVER IT. You will feel better I promise.

The Indoctrination Theory crowd are the real crazies These people can't except that Bioware jacked the ending up that bad. It must be some trick they tell themselves. Not only are they in denial they are also delusional. So delusional that everything in the game points to a theory that has been discounted. Stuff like "Because you didn't see the rock in Shepard's hand during that heartwarming scene on Rannock with Tali it proves you are indoctrinated!"  I have news for you guys. There is nothing clever about the ending it just sucked.

And then there is the ugly name calling and bickering that breaks out. "My Shepard would never kill the Quarians, the evil Geth death machines are to blame!" "Yea, well your a dumb ass!" "My Shepard made peace with the Quarians and the Geth and survived the Synthesis beam." "Now he flyes around the Milky Way like Superman sh+iting Reaper destroying space bombs!"

One day I sat down and realized I was done with the insanity and decided most of the level headed people where on the multiplayer fourms and quit the Story Discussion fourms for good.

Sure, there are a lot of things out there that can provoke some pretty strong reactions. A fact of life is that there will always be things that upset you; it that's the case, stay away. Respect people's opinions and just agree to disagree.
