Character Customisation You Want
#101

Seriously I've been wanting that style forever. I'd also like to have the Frostbite version of the default female Hawke hair.
I also want the "default" Inquisitors, if they will be there, to like... NOT have exclusive stuff? It really bothered me you couldn't put the paint smear or hairstyles on a custom Hawke. Really, if you're going to have any kind of default we can't edit, let us play with their face, hair color/eye color, makeup, and skintone.
That said, I would like:
Freckles (all sorts of kinds! Some on the cheeks, forehead, nose-ridge, all over the page, ect),
Curly hair,
SUPER TIGHT CURLS (like nice jewfro or afro textured hair; my cousin has really tight blond curls, and they're really pretty)
More dreadlocks,
better hairstyles in general (some nice female ones with braids and/or bangs would be great),
Long hair,
More brown hair color options (seriously there isn't that many, there is way more blond colors. I'd like a nice medium and dark chestnut hair color),
Beards and other facial hair that doesn't look like plastic,
hair that is nice and detailed; I made a redhair in DA2 and her hair looked like she stuck her head in a bucket of red paint and it dried like that, taking away all the texture of hair,
tattoos, scars, and warpaint,
a mirror to change your appearance throughout the game (hair, warpaint, jewelry if they have it),
annnd the options for earrings, noserings, ect would be nice. Kind of like Amalur but not looking butt-ugly. XD
I'd also like to have some kind of body slider, even if it's really basic.
Like a lithe, average, curvy, toned, and slightly more plump option if possible. I would be super happy with a lithe, average, and toned one to atleast get a little bit more body type difference, since it always bothered me how athletic my Hawkes looked? I mean the male Hawke had all this muscle mass and... for a warrior/rogue it would make more sense, but my Hawkes were normally mages. :I
A height slide would be nice too, even if it's just a TINY bit of difference.

-Red eyes (Like my warden's!) Awesome for reaver/blood mage characters
-Piercings! Earrings, nose, lip, and eyebrow piercings. Independant of hairstyle. I would vastly prefer piercings instead of tattoos, unless...
-Body tattooos. Lemme get a skull on my character's shoulder or something absurdly macho like that. It'll give me something to giggle about in romance scenes
I think options for height and body build would be really cool, but I think it would complicate the development of armor+clothing assets, and I'd rather have more of those to choose from. The clothes make the man, not muscle sliders XD

* Muscularity slider. (I don't want to play mages that look like body builders or female warriors with scrawny twig-arms anymore)
* Muscle tone slider / body weight slider.
* More flexibility with the settings. For example, instead having just a couple of nose types to choose from noses that can be almost freely designed. Skyrims CC worked pretty well.
* More than only one short hairstyle for female characters.
* Height slider
* Scars (Very likely)

maybe eyepatches/facial covers for scarred/blind eyes for one-eyed characters
scars
all over body tattoos
a shaved head with a believable hairline
if the shape-shifter ability does make a comeback, maybe the ability to copy a high dragon's soul so we can turn into one(I remember Morrigan telling Shale the process of shapeshifting after her golem question)
piercings
Tight curls/curly locks of hair
Too much?

the beards where or too long or just mustaches... I had to use a stubble for my characters or they would seem like giant dwarves (I generally use humans).
I have no problem with the long beards (even though they make the PC look like either a old man or a classic dwarf)
I just wanted to be able use the one they use for Hawke and Duncan on my custom character, tis all.

Vicious scars for both genders.
A wider variety of red and brown hair tones. I would love a copper red.

Qunari definately need horn styles as a separate option from hair. No horns, cut off horns, a broken horn, small horns, medium horns, giant horns, IronBull-esque horns....and I'm out of horn styles.Eveangaline wrote...
Horn style for qunari.
I loved ketojans cut off and tied horns and I'd like that option for mage qunari (or non mages to show they're a tal-vashoth)
also in general, some small bits of jewlery. Obviously nothing that'd get in the way of the fight, but a small earring like varric and anders had would be nice.

I would definitely change my profile pic with my Inquisiton character if that happened to show BioWare.

2. Really big horns for lady qunari
3. No seriously, huge-ass lady qunari horns
Other, less-important things: freckles, and a shade of blond hair that isn't greenish or coppery

Seeing as Thedas is based on Europe, I don't expect to see a lot of Asian characters in the game if at all. She doesn't look that Asian and even if she were, I think it's more like an unintended affect. It's still nice if we could make our character to look like a certain ethnicity though. My black Hawke looks pretty hispanic. Maybe with the new engine, they could afford allow realistic look instead of a more stylized realism.MarchWaltz wrote...

Maybe an Asian looking character, I have never seen a DA or ME protagonist character who looks Asian.
Not really a protagonist but I think the lady who asked you to make her traps in DA:O looked asian. Correct me if I am wrong.

AMEN
there is a time and place for sexual dimorphism and it's when it won't get between me and my giant horned lady qunari

That too, I had to mod DA:O so my elf Warden's ears would actually poke through her hair. It seemed like the vanilla elf PCs ears stuck closer to their head than elf NPCs for some reason. :/

They were designed that way so that their ears wouldn't clip with open-face helmets. Such helmets would basically replace the character's hairstyle part, while full-face helmets would basically replace the whole head morph.
I can only speculate, but I assume it would have been difficult for them to make helmets hide an elf's ears to both allow large sized ears and also avoid clipping. I know from toolset experience that replacing a hairstyle would probably be fundamentally simpler; the hairstyle is just an independant part that gets attatched to the character's head morph, and could likely be substituted for [Insert Helmet Model Here]. The ears are actually a baked-in part of the elf head model.
Unrelated, but someone mentioned Mohawks earlier, and I must throw a +1 behind that. Mohawks are awesome.

1. More eye colors (red, gold, violet, solid black, solid white, etc), with the ability to set a different color for each eye.
2. More hairstyles, entire selection available to both sexes.
3. Qunari horn sizes (small, medium, large, arishok).
4. Body tattoos (chest, back, arms, hands).
5. More scars, entire selection available to both sexes.
