Everytime I try to open a locked crate, item, etc., it says that bypass failed.... what do I need to do to resolve that? Electronics and Decryption is maxed.

Do you get a chance to actually try? Or does it automatically happen?

And, you know how that minigame works I hope, if you don't that's why you fail.

Cap and Gown, it does work when I deploy omni gell, it just doesn't work when it request to use the override.

EntropicAngel, not sure what you mean by your questions.

Btw, thanks both for a quick reply. I've got a handful of other questions... New to the game.... Liking it....

When you press "override," what happens? Does it immediately say "Bypass failed" or does it show the minigame first?

What platform do you play on? Some players have reported issues with the bypass on PS3. Cannot remember if it was the PSN download version or the retail version that was causing the issues.

If you are console (Xbox/PS3) and choose to attempt a bypass, it is a quick-time sequence of buttons. Press the button shown before the next button flashes. Repeat until it unlocks. Some PS3 users have reported that it goes too quickly and the bypass fails almost immediately. On PC, the minigame is like frogger: move the cursor to the middle while avoiding obstacles.

First, thanks all for your responses and help.

RedCaesar97, I am playing on the PS3.

Secondly, for some unknown reason, I finally got to see how the bypass works. The bypass flashes random PS3 button symbols that must be pressed in the order given and in the allotted time frame. I am an old man, I can barely get the word cat spelled before the letters are out of my head...... :-)

I'm having the same problem (just started the game and am at around level 12). The only time I've been successful is the few times when you get to try again (after about ten attempts). Googling this I've read that on the PS3 the time is whacked and one has to be superfast (superhuman?) to get it. I never have spare gels to spend, either (being low level). Guess there's no way to hack these (I'm engineer class)?

My only suggestion is lots of inventory management where you reduce stuff to omni-gel. I usually reduce all the ammo types except shredder and armor piercing to omni-gel. The guns and armor I save to sell. I also reduce a lot of the armor and weapon mods to omni-gel. Once you get some Spectre guns you can start reducing just about everything to omni-gel since you will already have the best guns in the game and I rarely buy armor, just use what I find.

For a select few people, apparently changing their television to "game mode" helped. Which I find horribly difficult to believe, but oh well.

I had trouble with this minigame too; the game is absolutely terrible in explaining how the bypass minigame actually works. It gives you a written explanation, but fails to actually let you give it a go before tackling the lock itself. It doesn't help that sometimes the game hangs, meaning that for the bypasses that can only be done once you'd automatically fail and need to resort to omnigel.
