Ok so for those of you who dont know the map Condor has only ever been succesfully solo'd on Platinum twice[EDIT Recorded on YouTube only twice. Condor has been Solo'd on Platinum before]. That was by FFRANDADE6. He used a Volus Engineer vs the Collectors and then the Volus Sentinel vs the Geth. Very awesome solos.

I have been attempting to be the second person to ever solo Condor on Platinum for about two months now on and off. Its a map that most people never dare to solo on Platinum and even if they tried mostly fail on wave 1 or the earlier waves. I myself was this way. I believe I finally figured Condor out and have even gotten 5 Waves Survived in one of the attempts. I am using an Engineer and doing quite well now that I figured out the rhythim, created a pattern and know exactly where to start in the map. Just tonight I got to the end of wave 9 succesfully two times and the last attempt just now to wave 10. I have previously made it to wave 10 last month as well.

The problem that I am having is that I cant get away from not nuking spawns on wave 8 because of the primes. Because of this I have to use up most of missiles which I reserve till then anyway. BUT the REAL problem is that because of this when I get to Wave 10 there are double primes and although I can deal with every other enemy...the primes are difficult to get away from so even if I can do the objective halfway they are so slow in comparison to the Banshee's that I cant draw them away from the objective. If it were not for this I would have completed this solo three times just in tonights attempts.

The other solution would be for me to stop being so hard on myself and using the engineer I am using and trying out the Turian Ghost since well....He's a Turian and its a Turian map. Since this is probably one of the hardest maps to solo on....ever....do you guys think it would be cheap to switch to the Ghost? Just curious as I did attempt the Ghost in the beginning and failed miserably in comparison to the Engineer that I am presently using BUT Wave 10 is making it difficult unless I get either a hack or an escort. So far its been object delivery which, like I explained before is nearly impossible with two primes flanking different parts of the map, combat drones and their turrets. 

I see now why FFRANDADE used a volus as he could constantly shield spam to get through some of the tough parts. I have not needed this still with my engineer as I figured out a flow but I cant foresee how to get through wave 10 unless I get an escort or a hack...every other objective will just destroy me and by then I only have one missile. (I have not been using Armored Compartments on any attempt)

So what do you think BSN? Wall of text? Ghost = Cheap in this situation? OR does it just make sense due to immense difficulty of this map? I rarely ever post anything about my solo's before doing them but on this one I need help. Tonight I consistently made it to wave 9 and wave 10 easily but cannot get past the double everything on wave 10.

• What character do you think would be best for a map like this versus Collectors?

These were three attempts just tonight...as I pointed out before....I figured Condor out but....wave 10...wave 10...wave 10

I'd rather eat a bowl full of nails and take a punch from an MMA legend afterward than solo anything above silver, but if you're gonna do it, you should do it legit. It'll make ya feel better knowing you did it the right way, instead of goin' in cheese-tastic.

lol Are you playing this weekend? I am actually going to be speed running quite a bit to get more consumables to get this one done.

I think I have this one in the bag if I can figure out wave 10. If I dont get anything but an escort...errr...its hard. Normally I'd want targets but by wave 10 I only have 1 maybe 2 missiles due to the way this map works....ugh..I enjoy the challenge but am kind of stuck on wave 10.

Yeah thats how I am feeling and plus it would be more impressive I think. I will try again tomorrow. If I get an escort on one of those attempts Im good. So far I am able to replicate this over and over now that I got the flow so I am not worried about getting to wave 10 now...I am worried about making it past wave 10. I am consistently ending up with 3 medigels by wave 10 so I guess I'll have to keep on trying. Oh RNG give me an escort please!

I didn't know that this map had been used so rarely for plat solos (at least for what we know). Then I will give it a try.
If I were you, yes, I would switch to the turian ghost first, get a success to become more confident on the map, and then make an other try with the engineer. I personally can't accept to not complete a solo challenge.
I maybe didn't read well (it's very late), but which engineer did you used ?

I'll probably be playing, yeah. I'll keep messing around with the Mordus insanity challenge for Prestacious' solo thread. I've already got a pretty solid time, but I think I can still improve it. And it's still a lot of fun.
I just need some shotgun amps for my Venom first.

Yeah, grinding till you get the right objectives can be tedious, especially when soloing Platinum or going for a solo speedrun. Wave 10 devices on Jade: rage-quit.

Well thats the point. I am totally confident of all the waves and can replicate the success consistently through wave 9. Its Wave 10 that is sticking to me. I didnt mention the Engineer I am using. 

I am wondering if the Ghost may make it better now that I figured out how to consistenly beat waves 1 - 9 with the pattern I created.

As for this map being used for solos, the reason no one likes to solo it on Platinum is because it has so many holes and its so open. I figured out how to get around this but on wave 10 if I dont get anything but an escort or a hack...its nearly impossible to get through the objectives with the primes flanking from two parts of the map. I will keep trying. I am hoping I can finish it with my engineer. Try it too and let me know how you make out.

I made a goal to solo platinum on every map in the game since its never been done and with a different character that I have not used before. I am almost done. This is also another reason I dont want to use the Ghost as I have already done one solo with him..... whatever...I'll just keep trying. Its a lot of fun getting these done so its not a "masochist" kind of thing. I just see it as another platinum game and it gets me through just fine.

If you're going for the accomplishment of having this be "the hardest thing you've done" in ME3 multiplayer, go engineer. If you just want to do a plat solo on Condor then take the TGI and don't look back.

@ Uh Cold .. LOL

@ Ultner...yeah I am gearing towards finishing it up with my engineer as I feel if I do it wiht the Ghost, now that I figured the map out I would be succesful and as great as that sounds I dont want to do it with the Ghost. My Engineer is just doing great but that wave 10.....stimpacks would help.... Condor is tough.

Yeah the map is tougher than most that I have solo'd on. Glacier is kind of like a cake walk compared to Condor as its all open and the Praetorians lasers shoot right through everything. OK Im going to grind it. Engineer will have to do. Its not hard now that I figued it out but its all about that wave 10.....wave 10...darn you wave 10

I will. Not right in the next days (currently in vacation, visiting the United States), but as soon as I can.
Concerning the design of the map, indeed, there isn't really a safe place in Condor. Ennemies have always several lines of fire and can always flank you / attack you from behind.

Nothing to do with raising the bar or anything. I could care less for that. Just part of the challenges I am doing.
