Everyone knows that if somebody dies off screen it doesn't count so with that in mind what role will Duncan play in Inquisition? Companion? Love Interest? Final Boss?

I know Bioware has been building this moment up for quite a long time so I am pretty sure I speak for everyone when I say we are expecting a big return from Duncan.

I'm expecting, and won't buy the game if I hear this isn't true, that Duncan is the Last Boss AND a Love Interest, and you defeat him through rough sex.

Bioware has confirmed Duncan is dead with zero chance for a resurrection.

I fully expect that by Dragon Age 4, in the games, the books, or the comics, it will be revealed Duncan has a brother. And he will appear.

A twin brother, who resented looking like Duncan, no beard.

David Gaider. "Duncan is dead. If he appears again, it would have to be in a story that takes place prior to Origins, if anything."  Source
And I recall him repeating this numerous times.

Oh in that case I have another quote from David Gaider.

David Gaider. "Forst1999 is full of ****, don't believe a word he says"

Yeah, David Gaider did say, Duncan is never coming back. Not in Zombie form, not in ghost form. Duncan is dead, he served his narrative purpose and is gone.

Duncan's dead. And even if he wasn't dead, he'd almost certainly be on his Calling and either dead anyway or well on his way to becoming a ghoul.

Um... What? We saw him get his head cut off by a darkspawn at Ostegar... Though Leliana survived a beheading so who knows...

If I recall correctly Duncan's corpse didn't appear at Ostagar, only the Ogre with his sword in its chest.

Duncan is dead. I think it was Gaider who even said that Duncan is 100% dead and that he'll never reappear in any new dragon age game.

EDIT: Dug up the quote, it was posted on BSN but I found it on the dragon age wiki:
"Duncan's death was confirmed by David Gaider. "Duncan is dead. If he
appears again, it would have to be in a story that takes place prior to
Origins, if anything.""

If a warrior doesn't have his sword he is as good as dead, ask Sten :D

Sten didn't die, he only got locked in a cage to die.

Duncan is not a warrior.  He's a rogue.

Semi-confirmed rumor. I heard you beat Duncan by having rough sex with Flemeth, and then when you slay him, his spirit goes into her baby.

Female PCs, unfortunately, will die horribly at the end. But that's because BioWare wants to make every choice matter.

David Gaider did say he's gone, period. And yet criticizes people who don't except their in game explanations for why companions who definitely died are suddenly alive. What's their big evidence for him being dead? He looked angry at a darkspawn running at him and his weapons were never removed from the ogre.
