A thread about how good would it be if BioWare would show ancient Tevinter Empire in positive perspective. Even through the society is based on slavery. Also, it would be very nice if the Inquisitor could take some steps to bring the ancient Tevinter back.

It would be something like BioWare did to Geth by introducing the Legion... A good idea, don't you think so?

Maybe.

But the last time Tevinter was in power they destroyed heaven and created a blight.

The tale about destroyed heaven and creating a blight might be a lie. That would be a very interesting turn of events, if Tevinter wasn't actually responsible for all of that. Moreover, maybe ancient Tevinter tried to stop those events and suffered in the process.

We had one of the Mages who did it pop up in front of us and sing about to our  faces and you still say it may be  a lie?

So when the Teveinter Magister comes right out and admits it, he's lying. Yes, that does make perfect sense to me.

That was a Chantry agent in disguise. It is all a conspiracy to make Tevinter look bad and discredit Seival on the forums.

I want to make a joke about this, I really do, but Andraste wasn't even born then.

With great power comes great responsibility.
The Templars have to imprison or kill all mages to keep them under control.
Without control the order would be impossible.
Without order the survival would be impossible.
Without survival the people are history.

Blood Magic.
Magocracy.
It should be crushed, killed and locked up by the Templars, for a better society.
The best hope for the bright future.

The Tevinter Empire has to be crushed and wiped from the map to bring order to this world. Order without critical differences between different people. Order, where everyone can co-exist in peace and harmony, without any fear.

Isn't that a perfect goal for your inquisitor? Isn't that in fact what the inquisition is all about, killing heretics, crushing the unbelievers and destroying the mages? Yes, yes it is.

There, fixed Seival's post. I looks much better now. Much more reasonable too.

Wrong again... Magic exists to serve me.....And so does everyone else if they don't want to be lighting to death.

Corypheus was too confused in his prison to say something intelligible just after release, I'm afraid. His words mean too little to the one, who doesn't know all the truth. And I have a feeling we will meet Corypheus again to ask some questions.

The only thing he was confused about was the date. He still was one of the mages that started the blight. Sorry, he proves you wrong.

I'm afraid he was totally confused, and his rambling meant too little to make some final conclusions.

There is no peace, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
Magic shall set me free.

I still find the fact people didn't immediatly look at my first prank picture and go "That's not tevinter" is more damning against the imperiun, than any other evil aligned empire.

Basically, the whole thing, the more I look into biowares take on the sith, stinks of tevinter being interchangable with the sith, or the old republic sith being interchangable with the tevinter imperium.

There is no emotion, there is Andraste
There is no ignorance, there is do what Templars say.
There is no passion, there is tranquility.
There is no chaos, there is a sword to the face you filthy blood mage.
There is no death, there is as the Maker commands.

Pretty clear we can't see real meaning behind Corypheus words yet. Much more info is required to make conclusions.

So He was not fallowing Dumat. Dumat is not an old god. They were not trying to get to the golden city. And they did not corrupt it and turn into a dark spawn. Even thought hemakes it clear that happened?

I think dumat lied to them about the golden city, possibly leading them to a different area of the fade all together.

That does not mean the magistars were not at fault. Them fallowing him still caused the blight. They did it out of the want of power.

Ain't disputing that, it's pretty clear whatever happened to them in the black city turned them into darkspawn. I'm just saying the corrupted the golden city part might be in question.

You should prepare yourself for some unexpected things in DA:I, believe me :)

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Andraste, who was responsible for the first blight.
I wouldn't even be surprised if Flemeth is actually the Andraste.

Anything can happen. Good story always have some interesting turn of events. And showing ancient Tevinter in good perspective is clearly very interesting turn of events.
