I'm afraid he was totally confused, and his rambling meant too little to make some final conclusions.

"The light. We sought the golden light. You offered... the power of the gods themselves. But it was... black... corrupt. Darkness... ever since. How long?"
"Dumat? Have you forsaken me? I am your faithful servant..."

Pretty clear he was not confused about that...

Pretty clear we can't see real meaning behind Corypheus words yet. Much more info is required to make conclusions.

So He was not fallowing Dumat. Dumat is not an old god. They were not trying to get to the golden city. And they did not corrupt it and turn into a dark spawn. Even thought hemakes it clear that happened?

I think dumat lied to them about the golden city, possibly leading them to a different area of the fade all together.

That does not mean the magistars were not at fault. Them fallowing him still caused the blight. They did it out of the want of power.

Ain't disputing that, it's pretty clear whatever happened to them in the black city turned them into darkspawn. I'm just saying the corrupted the golden city part might be in question.

Who head is complaining about that. Even Justice can't comferm or even heard of the maker.

I agree - I think the city was already that way when the magisters showed up. It does make you wonder if it was always like that, or if something had happened.

They were trying to go the the golden city. They may of ended up somewhere else. Everyone is upset over the blight. The only consern people have is just the blight.

Lies. The Fex started the blight, that's why no one's seen them in nearly a millenia.

Bouahahahahahahahaha! Now I won't be able to imagine the Fex as anything else but Gungans.

Although, the "elves" starting the blight it might not be that out there or at least something related to the Fall of Arlathan. We know that after Arlathan was sunk underground. We also know that elves came from the undergrounds and found the Dwarves and lived with them for a while (Shale's quest in DAO and Witch Hunt). Also, the Eluvian leads to a city in darkness/underground according to Tamlem and it is blighted.

Could Arlathan be the starting point of the blight?

Huh, that does bring up a good question. Where does the Eluvian lead? Now, the blight/taint is a source of magic, so perhaps it acts like the Fade in that it also has a kind of... metaphysical realm?... in which those who have knowledge of it can go there? So... Morrigan went into the dark realm where the blight may have originated and that realm began with the fall of Arlathan?

Maybe all that crazy magic and dark realm creation is what messed up the elf genes to be so submissive to their environment and other genetics.

These crazy theories are awesome, more to talk about on the forums.

You don't want to be happy? If you really think so, then you just delude yourself.

Tevinter slave, controlled by Blood Magic, doesn't sense any restrictions. The slave only thinks that everything goes as it should. And you think the similar way... There are many restrictions that keep your will under control, but you don't even sense these restrictions. You are not free to do anything you might want, and if you forget about that - authorities will remind you.

You live under the assumption that everyone's ultimate goal in life is to be happy (and what is happiness by the way? It seems to me that you're talking of becoming an empty shell filled with your psychotic ramblings: happiness is a chemical reaction in your brain, not magic).

Note that I didn't use the term "free will". Free will does not exist, we are alway going to be restricted to a choice dictated to us by the environment or other generic external imputs, an aut-aut if you want to talk philosophy. However, said choice grants us the illusion that happiness may indeed exist (I don't know if you are familiar with Giacomo Leopardi, maybe Schopenhauer), a kind of happiness that is a mix of hope and illusion.
That's what stimulates our brain, not some silly cheap conspiracy theory about taxes and governments (I pay taxes to get services in return, I'd call that a contract or a compromise, not slavery).

Furthermore, I have experienced my individuality and seen slavery and mind-control. I'd never switch my present state with the other one, so there's that as well.

Actually, that is my line of thinking.   After having played and replayed these games over and over, I am pretty convinced that the Golden/Black City in the Fade was originally created by the ancient dreaming elves.   Marethari in DA2 does mention that the ancient elves used magic to shape the fade.

I would also guess that the city turned black in the fade when Arlathan was sunk in the Earth.   There is probably some kind of connection between the two cities that caused the taint.

Then why did was still believed to be gold during the nearly 600 years between the Fall of Arlathan and the First Blight? The elves didn't come from underground from underground as far as we know, I think the ones mentioned in Witch Hunt DLC were implied refugees fleeing the Imperium after the destruction of Arlathan.

I believe World of Thedas also says the elves thought the city in the centre of the Fade was home to their gods.

What is the happiness? It's a state of your mind, when you think that everything goes as it should. And believe me, you want this state of mind to be constant and unbreakable.

Yes, freedom is just an illusion. I said that many times before. You experienced modern individuality, and seen barbaric slavery and barbaric mind-control. But what about gentle mind-control I'm talking about here? When in fact you are slave, but don't even realize that, and don't care about that? You would be in quite a similar state as now, with the only difference - it will be only your masters who will decide what is better for you and the entire society, and Blood Magic will ensure you'll never disagree. For you, however, that will be as if it was your "free" decision - an illusion that keeps you under control.

Isn't that a good way of things when masters are wise and progressive? I believe it is one of the best ways to be no matter if you are slave or master in this system.
