There is no oppression when everyone are forced to be happy. Oppression is when everyone are "free" and unhappy.

People need control just like they need food, water, and air.

Oddly enough I'm reading a novel right now that deals with the question of a Society optimizing its citizens health and happiness through absolute control of work, play, marriage, reproduction, retirement, etc.  

The idea that oppression isn't so bad or doesn't actually exist, if it leads to happiness, is illusory.  The happiness itself is an illusion.

Happiness is, nearly undeniably, the result of a not-that-complex set of biochemical reactions.

How one achieves it can be voluntary or forced. Natural or manufactured. Free or controlled. The result of a net equation, one with a near infinite number of venues to achieve, but all of which have similar results. 

Would a method of more people achieving this happiness with the least amount of waste and the most amount of forward progress be, on the surface, "evil" if it co-opted people's free will in the process? That's not as easy of a question to answer as people think.

The number of times a person "spews forth" is irrelevant to their being a troll, actually.  There's been plenty of dedicated trolls in these forums.

Oh nice! I like mages! They have good conversation when tranquil and they are so calm to. I had this joke where, we gather up all the children that show traces of magic and we send them to this tower LOL(good part) and we force them to use magic according to our regulations. The Killer punchline is mages that run away from the circle, are called apostates! This means we might capture them again, punish them or even kill them....good times
