I would have PMed a moderator, but we can't PM them anymore without being on their Friends List.

*snort* it will be a cold day in the EA boardroom before that particular example of a misbegotten spawn is ressurrected. Trust me. No

Certainly not. This forum is for complaining about the ME3 ending and general whining, not showing your appreciation and praise for the games characters and writing.

No it won't ever be. The moderators don't want to deal with the constant headache caused by maladjusted individuals with an unhealthy attachment to fictional characters.
Of course if Bioware was better at PR they would realize that the forum should be deleted outright for the sake of their corporate image. You can't stop people from posting perversion like "tali sweat" on tumblr and deviantart but you can certainly get it off your own site.
It doesn't take a genius to realize you might not want your product associated with sexually frustrated weirdos living vicariously through their self-inserts, this obsession with romance has done a lot to make this forum the laughingstock of the Internet and Bioware games viewed as a romance sim masquerading as an RPG.

If it was common practice to close a forum because some of the posters were acting like "weirdos," every sub-forum here would be closed. Just sayin'.
IIRC that forum was locked due to some disagreements on thread joins/splits/being remade etc.
What you guys are talking about were not the par-for-the-course character and romance fans, but some truly fringe "I believe Miranda is my actual girlfriend" people. How does someone saying "Ashley is awesome and my favorite character! Here is some fanart I drew of her" a problem for anyone? It doesn't take a genius to realize that having a dedicated group of fans for your intellectual property is healthy for the bottom line. These are the people who buy the games on multiple platforms, and not only that, but merch.
And devil's advocate, if you're really all "Ugh, I don't like it when other people really like something," wouldn't having a sub-forum for all that liking help you avoid those likers?

The fringe "tali sweat" elements are only part of the problem. When you have several hundred page threads dedicated to fluff that's only a few minutes long in a 30+ hour game dwarfing more important aspects then you have a serious PR problem on your hands with people getting wrong impressions of the product(if one didn't know any better they'd think ME is a date sim with a combat minigame).
Priestly did the right thing in closing that sewer of a sub-forum(and with banning IT discussion from the main board).
