I've read some threads i.e. infamous Miranda romance thread(not all thread mind you). Yeah, there were weirdos with unhealthy love to a bunch of pixels but it wasn't so bad to close an entire forum. It was a lazy decision and I'm not surprised it was Chris "deal with it" Priestly who closed it. Just ban worst offenders, delete bad posts. Problem solved.
Oh and "quarian sweat" was obvious trolling.
Which was his job, but I guess it was too much to ask for.

I think closing the romance forums was a good idea from a PR standpoint. Most people tend to think that the reason why the entire romance sub-forum was closed down was b/c of the Mirandalorian civil war, but likely that was simply the straw that broke the camel's back.

If you think that bsn are the worst forums on Earth, you're wrong. World of Warcraft forums can boast people who write "Did he drop any good loot?" when hearing about someone's death IRL. Blizzard moderators didn't close entire forum because of that.

Because, we've been debating whether the Bioware should emphasis "inclusiveness" or "realism" when deciding on the sexual orientation of its characters every day for like a year now, and it's getting old. I want to go back to debating other things. Like whether that one paper mache sex doll is really Tali or just a generic sex doll with lazily crafted hair. Whether players actually have any legitimate reason to dislike Ashley, or if people just hate her because she's a theist. Whether it matters that Miranda has abandoned Cerberus, or OMG YVONNE STRAHOVSKIBr3ad wrote...
It's not like the mods stop us from making threads all about waifus and then fighting in them daily. Why reopen a flamebait section when we can do it right here, right now?
Bioware needs to add romance with keeper #541 in ME4 else they're bigoted.TheBlackBaron wrote...
People hated Ashley because she was rood to their blue skinned lesbian waifu and Merrill was a hella keeper tbh.

. Whether or not Merrill is... a keeper? Idk, I never actually visited that thread. We used to debate whether Thane should have lived, or Thane should have lived. We used to debate how badly Cullen needed to be a companion/LI. These were fun debates to have, but now all we have left is the eternal conflict over whether or not Bioware is doing enough to promote civil rights. Kinda sad tbh. The magic is hella dead.

Hmm, that's strange. I reread my post and nowhere in it did I mention the BSN being the worst forum on Earth.

I highlighted a sentence in your message about "good PR" etc. Blizzard had actually worse people on it's site but they didn't close their forums.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Someone in that thread produced a Tali fvck doll.
Why do you keep repeating that and trying to deflect attention in the best troll tradition? I wrote you that other game companies had MUCH WORSE things and didn't close their forums. It was a lazy decision to close the forum instead of properly moderating it from Priestly an co. Which was their job actually. I don't even answer your other baseless assumptions about "impression to newbs" etc. etc.Ravensword wrote...

Again, how does that imply that the BSN is the worst forum on the Internet? It simply doesn't. I should clarify that, as Seboist said, the romance forums were way too bloated compared to the rest of the forum on such things as story and gameplay. It gives the impression to newbs that the romances are integral to their games when they absolutely aren't, although many would seem to act as if that's the case.
