He should. As a cameo.
Other than Varric, I don't want any returning characters as companions.

No thanks. I don't feel very strongly about cameos. I honestly liked Leliana's cameo as well as (King) Alistair's, and thought that Zevran was pretty random. When it comes to Fenris, I haven't been able to think of a good reason for him to return as a companion. Even as a cameo, I'm not sure if there is any point. At least in my mind, he's been working to act against the Tevinter, and may or may not have Hawke with him. I think his story is done and should stay that way.

I romanced him, so I really don't want him returning without Hawke.

Zevran wasn't with my Warden in DA:A and then he pretended my Warden didn't exist in DA2 (yes, it was a glitch, I know).

I don't want the same thing happening with Fenris. Please, let him and Hawke stay together. I don't want to randomly encounter Fenris in DA:I and have to do some silly quest for him.

If Hawke has "mysteriously vanished," please let Fenris have vanished with him.

No. A thousand times no. I had that character shoved down my throat.

....Fenris? The optional recruitable companion, that you can dismiss/get rid off multiple times, was shoved down your throat?

Yes.  He was.  I don't hate him but I am not going to put up a shrine to him like others have. He is just not to my taste.

This fandom would be a lot better if people learned to accept the fact that not everyone is going toe enjoy the characters you like the same way

I want them to appear only if they are with my Hawke.
That is all. :)

Fenris has a backstory that might be more appropriately explored in DA4, if that game's setting includes Tevinter. In that case, it might be better to have someone like Hawke refer to Fenris in a way that sets up that game.

Otherwise, sure... at least a cameo.

I couldn't care less about Fenris. He's not one of my favourite characters. What I was addressing is the 'showing down my throat' part of your post, which means that he was forced on you, which is blatantly false, since you can get rid of him multiple times, and you don't have to recruit him to continue the game. Characters 'showed down our throat' would be Varric, Aveline of Merrill.
It's completely fine to dislike\\hate Fenris. It's not fine saying that he was shown down your throat, since it's not true.
I agree that the fandom should learn to accept different opinion. It's infortunate that in no part of my post I criticized you for disliking Fenris, nor did I even stated I like Fenris.

I would love for the writers to find a reason to include Fenris in more than just a cameo role. That is, of course, if they use the same model for him. I don't want him to get beat up with an ugly stick like Zev did in DA2.

I would love a DA4 story with Fenris as a main character.  I wouldn't mind waiting for that.

I think all cameos should only show up as screenshots of what they are doing and where while the credits roll. That way no undue amount of resources are wasted just so people can say 'hi'.

As you can tell, I am not a fan of cameo appearances. If they have some vital storylink then great, I am all for it. However, just having people show up when there is no story link between them makes the world seem incredibly dull and small. It works better in games like Mass Effect where characters at least have known the players character. In DA, not so much.

Meh. I don't need to see him again. In fact, I don't really need to see most of the past companions. I'm not terribly against it, but they often feel a bit forced when they make cameos.

If they are going to include cameos, I'd prefer for them to be heard of, but not seen. For example, with Fenris, you could hear about an elven former slave who has been hunting down blood mages. Maybe a reference to strange glowing tattoos. We'll know who it is and get our "closure" or "update" on his fate without having to accept that he happens to be in the same place as our next protagonist even though it's a different country several years later.....

as i remember someone already asked Gaider about Fenris and Gaider said that without Danarius he sooner would became crazy-die...especially after veil was torn

so only if he was given back to Danarius then you maybe will see him...

but i doubt that because he was not a really important companion who have no real role in DA2, what can never be seen by Hawke in DA2 and he was never mentioned by Varric and many does not like him and kill him

That picture two posts above this one is completely ridiculous, and makes me think it might be better to never see Fenris again. Glowing emo boy was bad enough, but spiked barefoot demon knight wolverine is kind of nauseating to look at.

I didn't like anyone of the DA2 cast except Cassandra so I hope none of them make a return.

Again, I must say that I am against most characters returning. I get why everyone wants to see their favorite characters return, but please remember that Thedas is a big place. The same twenty people are not going to be involved in every crisis unless they are a world leader or have a significant personal stake in the conflict (i.e. missing son, kidnapped wife, revenge). Fenris, aside from his hatred of mages, had no reason to be in Inquisition. Hell, I would think he's the kind of character that would much rather avoid mages if he can, rather than actively seek them out.

That is made by a team external to Bioware. This is how Matt Rhodes (DAI lead concept artist) said he'd have designed Fenris back in DA2 with the knowledge they developed about Tevinter:http://mattrhodesart.tumblr.com/image/73678407449
I doubt they'd cut off his hair if he return, but the armour is gorgeous. I hope to see something similar in DAI.
@Dark Korsar: Gaider didn't say anything about Fenris being lost without Danarius, or something related to the Veil tears.

The game did NOT force him on me but some of his fans tried. Thats what I meant.

Sorry but I was personally told I was an idiot for not liking him during the days of DAII. I've also had friends who were bullied.

I don't expect people to like my favorites and I expect the courtesy returned.

Some of his fans (Im not saying all) have cognitive dissonance when it comes to Fenris.   The person who called me an idiot (just for casually saying he's not one of my favorites in DA2) still posts here. I am suprised she has not discovered this thread.
