Battlefield Soldier solo done. OMFG it was HARD. I could swear that the game didn't want me to finish this solo. I think that I did 1,5 Collector Masteries while working on this thing. LOL.

The map

FB Ghost is a really special map for me. Over a year ago I did my first bronze solo on this map. I choosed the hazard version , because I love the visuals. Rain , neons... it has this kinda "Bladerunner" feel. I just f@ckin' love this map. I wish there would a similiar hazard version of Hydra. Biower pls! Overall the hazard was not a hindrance.

The equipment

Yeah that was actually really surprising : the adrenaline mod 3 was far more usefull in therms of granting me survivabilty than cyclonic 4. Maybe it was caused by the nature of my gameplay. Dunno.
Also PPR + Incendiary 4 is a certified Scion destroyer. Basically I was just running around the map and farming Scions.

Its an archive. Not supposed to be extremely lively but I want to make sure I keep the records in there for everyone. The last post was 3 days ago and there a few other people still doing platinum solo's so its good that there are still some people doing solo's that can be put in.

Hi all! First of all, sorry if I make mistakes, I try my best (dictionary powa) but English is not my language.

I'm proud to say I'm now a real Lone Wolf! Yesterday I did my first Platinum solo, with the Turian Ghost on Giant. I know that's not exceptional, I know it's easier with that character and that map (that's the reason why I chose it), but I'm just glad that I did it. I already did a lot of Gold solos (with the Kroguard, the Geth Infiltrator, the Turian Sentinel…) but I have never really tried to do a Plat solo (just one time with the Kroguard, I think). I'm used to playing in Silver or Gold, not really in Platinum, but I saw a lot of videos of that. I dont personally made videos because I don't have software for… and because I'm not Hendrix, haha: sometimes I play well, but sometimes I do ****!

So, yesterday, I did a Gold solo versus Geths with that TGI and I decided to try Platinum. It was pretty hard (for me) but I managed to do it on my first attempt. I was very lucky with objectives: pizza, escort, pizza… But for a first Plat solo, and versus Reapers, I'm pretty satisfied with time. I used all my Medi-gels during that solo: I completely sucked at the beginning and I died four times in the first two waves… I thought it was done, but fortunately I played better and more carefully after. I used only one missile, on wave 8, then, during wave 10, after finishing objective, I wanted to clean the army with one or two missiles, but that was an epic fail: instead of that I stupidly died in the middle of enemies… After using my Medi-gel, that was what one could call the “panic rocket time” (four or five missiles used, haha). It was really an epic solo for me, and anyway, I'm more confident for future solos!

Finally, I really want to thank Hendrix and his amazing skill, Invader and his clever tactics and teaching skills, and few others here, who inspired and helped me a lot with their videos and made me a better player. And thanks to BioWare for this awesome multiplayer mode. And sorry for that novel, I'm so glad. ;-)

Thanks, HusarX, I think it's OK now (in fact, I thought I could upload it directly here… no comment). And good job for your solo! Personally, I find Collectors very hard… I never managed one Gold solo versus them (three fails yesterday), so Platinum… I will have to train hard. I have no problem to kill them (in Gold anyway), but I don't succeed to do objectives… And if I die once near a Praetorian, he rushes me, blocks me and finally instant kills me. I hate them.

Added your solo to the "temporary" HoF. Good job.

Yeah, Colls are kinda tricky, but after all I think they are the most ... hmm enjoyable faction to solo platinum. What I mean is that you have to deal with all that Phantom bulls-h-i-t only for 1 wave. Phantoms are not a problem (Acolyte,Falcon,Venom) but they are just annoying, especially if you wanna enjoy some Typhoon, Claymore, Eagle action without constantly switching your weapon to a "Phantom crutch".

As for the Praetorians, I just ignore them (ofc I try to be aware where they are, lol) and kill all the easy stuff first.

@Invader : video is uploading, so no need to update right now. Speaking about updates, I think I can help you with that on a regular basis. My job also keeps me busy from monday to friday but I think I can find time in the week end to update. However, I need to know if it requires some BBcode skills, because I'm a total noob with that...

Otherwise, I have thought about a new completionist category : for those who have soloed with every class of the multiplayer. I think it's a good indicator of skills in this game. What do you think about that ?

And congrats to Husar and Loufi for your latest solos in very difficult maps. Maybe there is ME5 released before I can do the same.

Thanks Antsu, I appreciate. Don't feel discouraged if you have failed some solo attempts, these things happen.

Way to go, I watched your video. Damn it was tough surviving those ravagers and turrets in an open map. Nice dancing moves at the end in extraction zone, well done indeed.

Thanks Antsu. Indeed it's almost a miracle I got the full extraction in this solo, I made several mistakes. I have an other video on this map (my first attempt) with a better gameplay and... no death in the first 8 waves. But a phantom put me her sword in the gut at the beginning of wave 9. I will create a topic tomorrow with the two vids.

Yes! And here my second Plat solo, with one of my favorite characters, my sweet Kroguard.

I did it on my fourth attempt. First three atempts were on classic Ghost. On my first attempt, I played very carefully, and I failed on wave 10 during the second pizza's run… instakilled by a phantom after I used a missile for clean the road (maybe he spawned behind me, I don't know). I was mad… but anyway I knew I was able to do this solo. I played more aggressively (like in Gold) on my second attempt and I failed on wave 7 (no more Medi-gel or Ops Pack, haha), I just don't have the level for that yet… So I played a bit less aggressively and it was better and still funny. After instakilled by a phantom on wave 8, I was fed up with these fails, so I switched to Hazard Ghost, haha… and I did it. It is a little bit ironic. I even got three times target objectives!… I used one missile on wave 3 (for first target), one on wave 8, two on wave 9, and five on wave 10. For other consumables, I think I used three or four Medi-gels, three or four Ops Survival Packs, and one or two Thermal Clip Packs.


Useless screenshots.

I'm so sorry for screenshots, I did sh… with Paint and I overwrited good and useful screenshots… I'm mad because I just have been able to restore one bad screenshot where we don't see the time (44:21), which was good considering objectives… But I know now how to do for future solos (I will take a single screenshot in game, on wave 11).
