Isabella most likely got herself a new ship and crew and is just off doing pirate stuff like she loves to do. Not much use for a land based pirate in my honest opinion, if they make Dragon Age: Oceans of Thedas, I'd expect Isabella to show up. Now that isn't to say they couldn't add some specific ocean faring adventure in Inquisition but at this point I highly doubt it and thus a visit for Isabella, but who knows, cameos are still a likelihood.

The shot of Varric standing over the corpse is an in game shot of what happens when the Inquisitor does/doesn't do something involving a village they passed through. The village burned and the people died and Varric is like "... ugh this SUCKS

I guess they think that no one can survive without their influence. Hate to see what happens when they don't see their friends for a couple years.MasterScribe wrote...

We know hawke won't be back.
I presume we'll see the others as npcs as time goes by in DAI or in subsequent games.
Iabela isn't dead by any means.
Even if you give her to the Qunari in DA2 apparently she manages to escape at some point.
I expect she'll return in some DA game eventually.

And you know it isn't Isabella because?
I am sure Varric has seen a corpse before jeez, in his line of work if he got that upset every time he saw a random corpse I don't know how he would cope.

The "sad varric" scene is that during the demo you had a choice of protecting the village or your keep. In the demo they played it as defending the keep, even though varric wanted to save the village. End result: Keep saved, village lost. Varric told the guys that they should revisit the keep to see their "handy work". When the inquisitor and the gang saw a destroyed village with bodies everywhere, varric was depressed from the image.

I know this because they've showed the gameplay at Pax and this scene came up durring game play.
It is litterally Varric (and Co) walking into the town after "Events", and his reaction to the scene of the town having fallen to the badguys.

So yeah, you're reaching so far for your conclusions that I'm afraid you might fall over. Isabela's fine, and probably will show up as a cameo or something.

The trailer used at E3 was reusing animations. It was made specificly for E3, using scenes from the game (Dragon in the desert, dead village, etc.) to make a nice looking trailer to give us a small glimpse.Maiden Crowe wrote...
That was a totally different scene, they just re-used the animation.

We've seen the context behind that scene where Varric is upset. That was what was shown at the PAX demo, when the Inquisitor didn't send the troops to defend the village and it got burned down.

But Isabella does make a cameo, you know that corpse in the trailer with the cloth over its face that grieves Varric so?

I think he was more upset at the entire village of people dead because of their inaction, with the corpse being a symbol of them all.

I can't tell if you're insistent on something that is most likely false when we already saw what that scene was for, or you're being silly.Maiden Crowe wrote...
