ok some of the things i miss the most about DA 1 is orzammar and how we can play with politics fluidly, of course that game was a bit limited in DA 1 but now on a massive scale let's just imagine how fun it would be to go through the political struggles in this time of dire struggles, something thick and complicated to sink our minds into.

kings fighting over dominion and princes fighting for the thrones and your decisions to help them peacefully or cunningly ;) will influence everything about the support you have in the war and your war assets.

Give me your comments and thoughts about this guys! i can't wait!

We might see ozammar again, perhaps. Though I don't know if I want to really see it so soon. I'd expect the "deep roads" portion of the game is another old thaig with red lyrium similar to DA2.

Oh I think we will have some political game fun again in DA:I. We are heading off to orlais...which has a "game" just off that alone.

I hate politics, both fictional and rl.

So basically I hated the entirety of Orzammar, Eamon, Anora, and the Landsmeet and really I'd rather not have to do anything like that again.

I'd rather just bludgeon my way through in-game political situations or cow the bureaucrats with a show of force.

I hated Orzammar's politics. I choose the Aeducan for the simple reason that I meta-gamed my "canon" playthrough.

The one dwarf says he wants politics back.
Surprise!

Also: A shame you guys don't like politics. I love these things in stories...makes it more interesting to me. Different tastes though, no big. I still hope it's in DA:I though, as even if one hates politics it's still a big thing when it comes to the grand scheme of things.

I'm hoping we're going to have to solve some sort of deal between Orzammar and Kal Sharok in order to recruit Dwarven forces.

Political stories are really interesting, and Bhelen was a much more likeable political operator than the supposed operator Loghain had in Howe. At least Bhelen was good at playing politics!

He also had a likeable cause, compared to Harrowmont. Ozammar is my favourite place in DA:O in terms of the origin vs. non-origin return, because you really feel the difference in perspective between a noble dwarf, a casteless dwarf, and a human/elf.

I sure would like to abolish their archaic caste system. For such an advanced people, they're culturally ass-backwards.

I did. Dragon Age 2 tried to include politics but it failed in the sense that you had no influence whatsoever with the Qunari conflict. Everything plays out the same regardless. If there was some actual choice to be made or if you could influence the Viscount or Arishock in some way then it would have been better. The potential was there in the story.

The potential is also here in Inquisition.

Guess the problem with influence was you didn't have much power FOR influenece (besides being noble tier, and that is only so much) until act 3.

This game gives us a lot of opportunity to be influential

We're going to Orlais.
If we can't play the 'game' in order to gather power, I will be incredibly disappointed.

You know, DA: O was a really political game. Elves vs. Werewolves, The Orzammar troubles, The Landsmeet, The issues in the Alienage. It's part of what made that game so compelling. You were the person who made the political decisions that ultimately impacted all of those areas. I'm not really sure if they will be able to capture as many of these different smaller elements in the context of an entire nation being at civil war, but I think the politics should be there, and since it's bigger than Kirkwall's troubles, it will be more compelling than DA2.

This mortal, this mortal knows what we want. Especially if we can win and be crowned Prettiest Inquisitor In Like The Whole Of The World, which I'm assuming is the objective of course.:D

No i never missed them because for me the term "political" games never happened, picking A or B in the majority of the cases was easy pickings an the end result was nigh always the same you got your help end of story.

What you guys seem to term "political" i term a no brainer when the consequence of the "political" choice is no more than a replacement unit in the field

What?

I don't understand the question here really.

Are you stating that the Inquisitor in this situation would be forced to choose between a noble and Templar as in whom to support a political situation?

That would be interesting.

I loved Orzammar as a location, but not necessarily its political issues.
