That's assuming you can click 8 times per second and actually aim effectively at the same time. I know I can't, and I'm sure I'm not alone. I can click 6 times per second (multi-clip DPS ~380) quite comfortably over a reasonably long period, but even at that speed, my accuracy suffers greatly.
For me - and for most people, I daresay - Avenger is more effective at killing things. Predator has an edge against armored opponents, but that's mitigated by piercing mods, ammo and armor debuffs.

Predator is an awesome Gold Solo vanguard weapon, excellent weight, superb fire rate and amazing reload speed. On my second profile it's the one I always use (because I still don't have the acolyte). Anything more powerful gets a Vanguard killed. It's the only one I'd bang.
