Thank you! *hugs*
He looks...well, beaten up, but since the world's gone to the Mabari it makes sense. I hope we get some info on the scar. The hair I can accept - maybe that's what happens to Dwarfs under stress? Maybe he used to dye it in Kirkwall?
He's still my buddy Varric - I'm just glad he's ok!
Who said he's ok? Maybe he's so sad and weary and beat up now he won't even have the energy to nickname anyone.

his hair looks a little darker, but ultimately i recognized him right away so Yay!
To be fair, it is raining.
Hopefully DA:I will take 'wet' visuals like the uncharted games.

Because there are too many threads about how Cassandra and Morrigan look.
I think Varric's gone through a bit of a mid-life crisis. He seems to have dyed his blonde hair brown... and his receding hairline has crept forward, too, which I can only assume means he found the Thedosian equivalent of Bosley and had his chest hairs transplanted to his cranium (the real reason his chest was covered in the trailer).
Personally, I'm going to miss his exquisitely arched eyebrows... and his magnificent manly chin... but he doesn't look that different and it's nothing I won't get used to, especially once Brian Bloom gets to talking.
Here's some Varric for your viewing pleasure.
I think he looks very much like he did in DAII so I am happy
When it comes to comparing haricolor, remember that the lighting is very different in these two shots. In DAII Varric is indoors in a very well lit area. In the screenshot from DA:I he is outside on the battlefield, he has no access to a personal spotlight. I would not draw too many conclusions from this comparison.

Still, it's Varric, and I'm happy to see him back.

His eyebrows are wrong, and that's the only difference that I find significant. But to me it really does throw his face off.

The brows are the first thing I noticed, but to be fair his facial expression in the above cap distorts things a bit. I don't know how they'll look in-game.

I see a total of one difference, and that's the scar on his nose. He's just been rendered in a vastly more powerful game engine.
...now I kind of want to see what default male and female Hawke look like using Frostbite.

I want to see what all the characters look like using frostbite, if this is the sort of standard. This alone would justify having Hawke and the Warden reappear, for me.mutant_anemone wrote...

Varric looks awesome!
There are some minor differences, that's true, but he looks better now, imo.
This, pretty much.

This, kind of. Though for me it'd justify more cameos of old characters than anything. I just want to see how they look after 10+ years (for some of them) and a new engine.
