My Wave 11 rocketing is so godly
amazing that when I see 4 phantoms together I rocket only 2 of them, in
order to separate 1 pair of phantoms from their other 2 sisters, which
makes them much easier to deal with.

Whoooooo didn't extract from a PUG last night then eh? :D

I never use rockets except to save myself or another player ...  but when I saw you rocket spamming on a Wave 10 PUG hack last night (Geth Gold Ghost Hazard), I thought I'd have a piece of it too.

My first missed both Primes so I ran back and wisely tried to pretend someone else must've mis-fired it. Then went back a few seconds later for another go. Second one missed ... oh boy ... rrrrocket rage now! Third one still missed the Primes, but the kill feed said I'd somehow taken out a whole pyro. Lucky for the helmet nobody could see my Kroguard turn red.

Wave 11 wasn't much better - not much worth hitting except singular Primes on their own, none of the double-spawns you'd been nuking. Still I managed to keep ahead of you on the scoreboard .. and, ahem, extract with all the others.

Aren't you #2 yet? ;)

Normally I'd say, "Do whatever the hell you want, they're your missiles". But the other day, a pug used six missiles on wave 11 in a failed attempt to beat my score... ON LOLSILVER! First time this genuinely bothered me a little...

I'm admittedly not good enough at the game to have an opinion (much less--lol--strong emotions) on this matter, but your post makes me wonder about the real reason people take offense at this practice.

Is the problem, then, that people are using some cheap way to boost their scores (which we all agree doesn't matter) at the end of the game and that ZOMG THEY ARE TRYING TO BEAT *MY* SCORE (which we all agree doesn't matter)?  I see a few posts mention that spawns become unpredictable as a result of said nuking, but most of the sentiment expressed here leads me to believe that folks are a little more concerned about score than they care to admit.

Personally, I'm basking in the freedom that can only be found at the bottom of the leaderboard.

Whether you are good enough has nothing to do with having an opinion -- we all have one.

Wave 11 spawn points are unpredictable. I have seen the best player rage missiling on wave 11, and instantly placing 2 Pryos and Primes behind a teammates within Flamer range. Guess what happened next....:P

With friends this doesn't concern me at all. But pugs that keeps on nuking on wave 11 will put a whole spawn right behind unsuspicious teammates.

And if I care about score that much, I'll go nuke them too. I do think points is an indicator of how well I am doing, but a difference of 10k or 20k means nothing. And if I am trailing by more than 40k at the end of wave 10, I would be thinking about why I am not killing faster enough rather than putting a bandage by nuking wave 11. Like you, I am not a top player. This is just my opinion.

It is actually quite fun to try and get the three killstreaks on wave 11 if you haven't gotten them already. I only do that when playing with friends though.

I never do that but if people are having fun doing that, let them have it.
I don't care, nobody cares. It doesn't hurt anyone (except the enemies :P) so you shouldn't care as well.
The wave budget is infinite so there will always be enemies for you to kill if that's why you're against missiling.

I couldn't care less what they do. I'm only irritated if they failed to use said rockets earlier if they would have helped.

As for me, I am sometimes guilty of rage rocketing. I'll also rocket if I can manage to get to 3 killstreaks. Because, money.

Well when I joined on wave 4 you had 60K something already so I had to ahem.... improvise to catch up and almost did. It is a mini game i play to see if I can end up top of the scorecard after a headstart and on most occasions I have managed to top the scorecard even joining at wave 7. To your credit you made a good call in rocketing on wave 11 otherwise I would have outscored you.

I could have sworn 3 killstreaks = 15k.

Lol, I know ... I joined sometime during Wave 2, but had a power amp IV strapped on a level15 acolyte-melee Kroguard so the points came in with little effort and no risk - more time to spend doing cheeky headbutts and revive others without worrying about survivability. Couldn't score much at range inside that hack box with just an acolyte though. Your rockets on the other hand ... !

I'm never bothered about being outscored so long as it's conventional (GIs and flamers often do, overpowered DPS) but this was FasterThanFTL (finally bumped in to you in a PUG!) and your rocketing to get points is legendary ... so an exception had to be made. Score difference was just 7K in the end, not sure how much each of my 3 Prime nukes (and one pyro, lol) were actually worth on Gold, oh and extracting. Enough I guess. ^_^

If you are one of those people who are nuking 5 spawns in a row on wave 11, please stop! It's a bad practise!:pinched:
If you don't know how to get rid of your 255 missiles, please nuke some spawns during the earlier waves or use them to clean up after objectives to make the game go faster.
Lately whenever I think I've come across a decent player in a PUG, they never fail to disappoint me, when they start shooting rockets on the extraction wave.
Makes them look like total noobs, even more so if the're trying to come in first on the scoreboard this way.
I think this is mostly a bad habit of otherwise skilled players, hence I'm posting this here on BSN.

when you:
- pay my mortgage
- F and suck me
- cook me food
-bare my offspring

I'll consider  listening otherwise.. QQMore

YOU sound like YOU want to be on the top of the scoreboard .. also who the F cares who's #1? as long as we all extract and we get full $$ I can be 4th all the time

Sometimes I wish people rage rocket at wave 11... I use mine at wave 10 to help with objectives, and then SUDDENLY you see everyone camping at the LZ, the whole bunch of damn creatures coming and killing everything and nobody use a rocket to make things easier for extraction (but I lol anyway :P)

I'm yet to come across a skilled extraction nuker, and I've run into many - including BSNers.

I always fire my missiles on wave 11. And use my OPs packs. They'll be gone from my inventory anyway so why wouldn't I use them?! I mean, it's not like you get to save them for the next match anyways.-.-

I don't even know what the missile button is on PC. I'm saving them for playing with spectre scrubs.

Get your story straight scrubs. :)

cause troll spawns and triple phantoms with BDSM dragoon squad

Oh hell who doesn't like a little BDSM especially with whips and swords?

I hear constantly how easy this game is, so let's spice up the difficulty a bit. Get your head on a swivel and firgure out where that spawn is coming from. It's rare that there is a just terrible respawn. I do think it is kind of courteous to give a heads up if you're about to unleash a flurry of FTL's though.

I dont care if people spawn nuke on wave 11. It's pointless, but I'm not going to go on a forum and complain about it. As long as the player was actually contributing to the objectives and helping out, I could care less if they nuke wave 11

I generally keep a missile for the dash to the LZ. I'll often nuke the LZ to save a couple of Pugs (who have gone straight to the LZ and been hit) and so we extract as many as possible.

Is THAT allowed o great one?

I'm sorry you get to extraction and folks still have missiles? How else are we supposed to spend our 255 rockets?
