Those threads are good to read though. The discussions are always fun, like the mage-templar thread and the Cerberus thread. I have a hard time deciding which kind of thread I prefer to read.

Why not? Let's say Cass is a LI, why in makers name would she romance a qunari? Maybe befriend him but sex? love? I don't see it. Some characters simply should not be that way with certain races. This was an issue in DAO(along with other things) that did hurt the romances.Elanor1 wrote...
I think that there needs to be restrictions but they should come from characters personalities and tastes not from differences in race.

Why restrict dwarves and qunari only, if you're so concerned with "everybody banging everybody!!1"? Why do elves and humans get to fall in love 'despite the lore' but dwarves and elves, or qunari and humans or whatever can't? It's a dumb restriction.

It's a waste of time and would mean spending more time and money on romances.
All LIs should have at least one race they won't date.mutant_anemone wrote...

What is the point of different races if everyone is going to treat you the same?

They would have to add more romance options.
Because it makes sense for certain characters and makes the romances have more weight. Not all people do a romance just to get their pixel fill.Taura-Tierno wrote...

Treating you differently does not equal never romancing you. Perhaps LI X (a ) would be more difficult to woo as a Qunari, but why should it be impossible?
Perhaps in the light of the coming apocalypse and the end of the world, racial prejudices seem slightly less relevant. Or perhaps, after haven proven yourself a decent person (in the eyes of the LI), the person doesn't care what race you are.
Why should there be race restrictions on love interests?
All the best characters are made by using a checklist.Mr.House wrote...

Except that will happen, Bioware knows if they don't the bsn will explode into a fireball of ager and throw words hyperbole words around.Steelcan wrote...
Qunari are at best disdainful of other races, excluding them from certain romances makes sense. Elf/human/dwarf pairings are not unheard of and it would largely fall to the individual characters.
But making everyone available for everyone just seems like pandering.
