Merril was my least favorite character from the 1st 2 games. I really can't stand how she just kept ignoring all the warning signs about blood magic and that Illuvian. Personally, I wish we could have killed her at the beginning of the game and saved her tribe.

I don't understand people who claim to be Merrill fans, but when they think of possible scenarios for her, they want her to be a drooling moron.

That's not cute.  What you are describing is not innocence.  What you are describing would be extremely alarming, because the Merrill in the above scene would have possibly suffered a head injury in order to be so lacking in common sense.

I hope Merrill doesn't show up in DA3. Let her stay with Hawke and away from these fools.

Remember when she says Tamlen is likely dead and you have the option of telling her she doesn't know that. She didn't seem very nice in origin, if anything i thought she was a total ****. Also if you try to bring the other male elf along to look for Tamlen, without telling her shes coming she kind of yells at you..

Shes not as bubbly in origins, nor is she as naive.

DAO Merrill barely had a personality. She was perhaps the most boring temporary companion of them all.

The newer one is better, and more adorable. ^.^

i didn't like merrill myself, but i could see her return in a cameo being hunted by templars

i think it really could work for everyone, give us the option to either A. save her and have a chat (varric approves)

or for people like me, B. Let the templars capture her (varric greatly disapproves)

and for people who HATE merrill C. convince the templars to kill her (varric leaves party if he witnesses this)

Underneath the overwritten cutesy pandering there was actually a selfish, arrogant, stupid girl who put her obsession over everyone else.

Of course she was an easy mark for a pride demon, her opinion of her abilities bordered on the delusional. People often think themselves invincible, but many of those people are dumb teenagers. Her thumbing her nose at those who warn her about demons and blood magic is not some grand stand she is taking for her people, it is the equivalent of teenage rebellion. It is far less endearing than a teenybopper throwing a tantrum because what Merrill is meddling with is actually very dangerous.

The gigglesquee stuff actually damaged Merrill's character by undermining what little pretense of competence she had by making her seem brain damaged.

for those who call Merril stupid,,,Meriil maybe does not know human society well as how to lie for someone because she was never do that but she was never stupid...and naive then she deal with magic

Merethari was a worst Keeper ever who ruin her clan and Merril life...i am not talking about Mahariel who lost his father(previous Keeper of the clan) and mother because of bandits and Merethari was not there and about then Merethari is sending him and Merril for this tainted mirror and when merril was tainted she is not help her and let her die and when Merril save herself with demon help she claims her as evil abomination who is dagerous for clan and spread other bull****

she is to blame about all what happening with her clan in Sundermount and what happening with Mahariel
