 So I just finished the first game, my god this game sucks....
you right in, the choices, my god the choices I was left with my mouth open or saying something like bioware you bastards, the characters have nice back-story in fact with little bugs like your squad mates blocking you instead of being annoyed I would say something like Ashley come on now really, trying to save the universe and your here blocking me. Yes I talk to them, don't judge me lol. I really do role play when I get into these games but no other game has sucked me in as fast and kept my heart beating like mass effect. 

Anyway I digress, before I jump into 2 and 3 I wanted to play again right away, there are just too many choices that I want to do differently before I jump into the next game.

I want to customize my character further this time by going the custom face route but heard a number of things, one the face will change in 2 and 3 with no control, they look out of place in 2 or 3 and you have to remake them in 2/3 not sure if any of it is true but if any of them are I would rather go with the default female just so see looks the same (or close to I know the graphics update and you cannot help that) though 1 to 3. Just asking because I don't want to play 1 and put 30 hours in just to have her ruined in 2 or 3.

ME1 is painful for someone who started with a later game. I started with ME3. Then got 1 & 2. I really dislike 1, but you have little choice but to play it if you want to set up your Sheppard the way you want. Genesis doesn't do a very good job.

As to your face, your face will transfer from 1 to 2 to 3. So customize all you want in 1. For 2 you either have to accept the imported face as is, or go with a new face. For 3 you can customize the imported face. So, lets say you ended up not liking the hair color in 2, or the eyebrow shape, but everything else was fine. When you import from 2 to 3 you can take your imported face and tweak it without having to start from scratch.
