I know this might not be seen but I just had to say thank you to Bioware for the entire trilogy.

I will be the first to admit that the ending left me feeling empty.  I had been playing for over 24 hours without stopping, was four monsters down, and then the ending just left me feeling empty and I just sat there feeling nothing for a few hours.

However I have to applaud the extended cut dlc.  It really solved all the problems I had.

But anyway, why am I posting now.

Well I have pretty severe depression from time to time, going through a pretty bad bout of it right now.  No motivation to do anything, hard time sleeping, all that jazz.

However Mass Effect(and to a lesser extent dragon age) are one of the few games that really help get me going when I am in a slump.   The emotional range I experience as I play the games really helps me break out.  I have gotten to the point where I can just watch a few cutscenes and it will help me get something done that day.

Although this is a little person I just wanted to say thank you and keep up the good work.  I am sure this series has touched others like it has touched me and I look forward to everything that you guys put out.

Well off to not flunk out of my PHD program......I should probably try to sleep again.

I know that feel bro. Nothing quite as severe as depression, but a good bit of fiction always had a similar motivating effect during hard times. Mass Effect particularly.

I was in a similar situation for a year or so, my social confidence was way down but playing ME3 and replaying the whole trilogy was therapeutic for me and things are looking up on my front. Career is going better and I have a new relationship. I partly credit this to Mass Effect, asking myself WWSD? (What would Shepard do?), picturing dialog wheels in conversations and generally trying to stay positive and supportive. It's embarrassing to post this but thought I would share.

edit- you know what it was, I stopped taking risks. Shepard showed me a better way to live without (or just less) fear. Again, embarrassing, but true.

Luckily, I've never been through depression as such, but there's definitely been times where I've been down, and Mass Effect has helped me out.

Mass Effect is also my go to game. Currently life is pretty hectic, everything is fine really but sometimes it gets a little bit too stressful. Then it's great to just immerse yourself in a game you love. ME3 is my favorite game so when I need a break a few hour of gaming is one of the ways in which I can relax.

I like to entertain the thought that someone at Bioware reads these posts still.

I never had depression, but in my young adult life video games kept me going. I personally believe that Mass Effect is the greatest story telling game of the current generation. I love these games more than anything.
Although, I have to admit, that thinking of the ending does leave a sour taste in my mouth. But we can't keep focusing on that. These games have way too many good qualities that can't be overlooked.

Live long Mass Effect! I want my kids to enjoy these games one day!

I love BioWare's video games. They're deep, gripping, exciting, emotional, etc. When I feel empty, I play the Mass Effect trilogy and then i'm full for a while ;) Currently on ME2 right now playing all the DLCs for the first time.

I'd thank Bioware for the trilogy, if I'd had the heart to go back and do a trilogy run since ME3.
