Well I was trying to figure out how to get AutoLoot to work in Awakenings and found in the comments area that there is a fix although you do have to do a bit of work to play different versions of DA (A, WH, GoA, & LS).  And with the moduleUID name both should work in other stand-alone campaigns.

(Credit to Dejoblue and emanruss for the fix)

---------

1. In your settings directory of Dragon Age
(usually located in something like Documents and Settings/username/My
Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Settings) there is a file called
AddIns.xml. Make a backup copy of it. It's very important because if you
edit it and make a mistake your mods will messed up. It also seems not
to work with single player after the editing. However, editing it back
should fix it.

2. Open the AddIns.xml with Windows Notepad. I had
problems editing it with my version of Microsoft Office as well as Open
Office.

3. In the Notepad menu click Edit->Find(Ctrl+F) and search for "auto".
Your text should look like Name="Auto Loot" ExtendedModuleUID="Single Player"

Change the ExtendedModuleUID="Single Player" to

Awakening: ExtendedModuleUID="DAO_PRC_EP_1"
Golems of Amgarrak: ExtendedModuleUID="DAO_PRC_GIB"
Witch Hunt: ExtendedModuleUID="DAO_PRC_STR"
Leliana's Song: ExtendedModuleUID="DAO_PRC_LEL"

Save it. To use Auto Loot in Origins change the line back.

AutoLoot >>>     http://dragonage.nex...ds.com/mods/28/

I realized when looking at the AutoLoot fix that Auto High-Light should work the same way.

Auto Highlight >>>   http://dragonage.nex....com/mods/114/?

I don't have a Nexusmods account, so if someone could post the fix in the Auto Highlight area it would be good karma for you.

Note that all I did was change it to work on DA:A and it will have to be changed back to work on DA:O - there might be a way to make it work on all of them but I have no idea how that'd work.  And be sure to SAVE a copy of addins.xml before you go messing around.

I can confirm that both work with the fix!

(Franky DA is not playable without Auto Highlight , and is a deal breaker for me.  Pixel hunting/looking for something penny sized on a 24" monitor is NOT fun.)

These were the only two mods I couldn't get to work in DA:A after playing DA:O &  I have like 25 mods for DA:O.

I don't think either mod is on this site.

Just on this, alt highlights everything without the mod. Though I definitely missed a hell of a lot of stuff before I knew that.

Yes, i pretty much run around the entire game pressing Alt,
i wish there was a setting or mod that made stuff glow at all time until looted or interacted with

Yes, those are mods - links in original post. There are still a few things that don't show up like secret doors but there are only a few in the game.

You can hit the tab button constantly or use auto hotkey to do it or you can wedge a coin in your keyboard... I'll use a mod ~ I used DAO-Modmanager and had no problem figuring it out.

Also AutoLoot sometimes causes problems with game triggers that involve items.
