I just peeped a YouTube video walkthru for this mission.  I needed a little help because the Alliance Heavy Turrets were kicking my butt and I couldn't figure out how to get up there and take them out.

The submitter of this walkthru appeared to  have some sort of scope on his Mako.  He was able to take them out with little trouble at all.

Where does one acquire this scope?

NOTE - the submitter was either on the PC platform or the Xbox.

Thanks -

On xbox you can use the scope by holding the left trigger. You can zoom in by pressing down on the right joystick. There are three levels of zoom. Just holding the left trigger gives you the widest view and least zoom. The next two levels of zoom are reached by pressing the right joystick. A third press will take you back to the default level of zoom, so the right joystick will cycle through all three levels. Each time you hold down the left trigger you start out at the default, least zoomed level.

The key to turrets is rocking the Mako back and forth as you fire. The rockets are fired at where you are now but have a lot of travel time, so move away from where you are now and those that were fired at that spot will miss.

If you are trying to build up XP points, it would be better to get out of the Mako and take them out with a sniper rifle. Just hide behind a crest, pop up, shoot, and scoot back down before the next rocket arrives. The biggest problem is your stupid squadies who mess up your aim by insisting on shooting through you. So order them to a position to your left or right so they don't screw with your aim.

And do try out the Mako controls (including the scope) to familiarize yourself with them before going into actual combat.

For the PC, the Left Shift zooms in. It works just like the sniper rifle zoom only there are several steps. Keep hitting it to zoom in more; the fourth press will pop you back out to full.

Kool, thanks all.... :-) Wasn't certain if it worked the same on the PS3, but it does. It sure is great to have people who are helpful on forums.
