Saw multiple threads, but none answered my question, and I didn't want to necro a 1+ year old thread.

Playing my first run with Tali (she had died in the suicide mission in my previous run). Talked to her as soon as she joined and unlocked Energy Drain. Talked to her again right after Rannoch and... nothing.

I'm a little concerned this is bugged because my understanding was that Defense Drone should have unlocked in the first conversation, and ED after Rannoch.

Can anyone confirm/disprove/reassure? All the lists online are vague and conflicting.

There is one other real conversation with her, on the Citadel after Rannoch. Maybe you should try that.

I have used it a few times and have seen it used a few times by other players.

I dunno. I just wanted the option. Also thought it might be good on a shotgun Soldier or sniper so I don't get flanked. Or an Engineer so a Hunter doesn't sneak up on me cloaked while I'm in cover. Just thought it would be fun to play around with someday.
