 Hello there,

I'm curious as to whether fans are allowed to create their own games based on the Mass Effect Universe?

If I were to make a game for example, provided I didn't profit or make any money from it in any way and give credit where it's due, would this be allowed?

I'm aware that permission must be asked, but I am unsure as to who I should be contacting. If anyone has any pointers, that would be great.

Some die hard fans were making a game that would run on Unreal Engine 3, but EA shut them down. There are games of 'less quality' around, I saw someone around the boards making a two-dimensional cartoonish game. Those are probably more permissible, but I wouldn't know who to talk to about that.

Ah, thanks for the info. Shame that game was shut down though, it looked pretty good.

Hmm, the chances of a game being shut down are quite high, then. As much as I'd like to make a game, purely as a fan of course, it may not be worth the hassle. I'll do some more digging and see what I can turn up.
