Reptillian -like? So he is like a mammal in disguise?

Drell are as reptillian or mammalian as krogan are surian, salarians are amphibian and collectors are insect.

Which is to say, not at all.

Despite any superficial resemblances or even similar evolutionary paths various species of alien beings encountered share with familar Earth creatures, they can't be neatly fitted into taxonomic classifications because they're not Earth creatures, and evolved independantly.

Not trying to be pedantic--well, maybe a bit--but it would be a mistake to assume certain things about any of the 'Mass Effect' species simply because they look similar to something familar.

I agree fully. But there are some additional complications with common usage of words, like when people use "animal" not to mean "member of Animalia" but to mean "active, sentient being but of low intelligence or inferiority to humans". Like "Rachni are just animals!"

Nope, hot bloodied reptile....at least that's what some of the ladies are saying....

That's so cute.  Of course, I just don't see the Thane romance that way.   I don't know... Could he be the romantic type?  Maybe.. maybe not.  But, he is an intriguing character for certain.  (I actually had a fascination for reptiles and amphibians and wanted to specialize on them when I was a Bio major.)  Many reptiles and amphibians have interesting courtship and mating rituals... hmmm...

Anyway, I really want a jacket like his.

This made me laugh so hard. If that is actually mentioned in game, I'll have to stop playing for half an hour while I try not to die from laughter.

So can we have Thane make cool noises?

SPOILERS

I really do wonder why he is dying. He has fourty or so more years to go!  :[ I hope it isn't that plague that was mentioned.

END SPOILERS

"At this point Collectors become more resilient and are capable of discharging powerful missiles from their body."

Am I the only one who was staring at that in disbelief? I mean.... COME ON, is that a joke?!

You're not the only one.
They didn't really specify how and what though.. Perhaps they are 'biotic missiles'... or such...

Really? I found that INCREDIBLY cheesy. The art was good though.

And yes, Thanes jacket is awesome. Apparently he puts some time aside from asassinating people then brooding about it to be fabulous.

I believe they are bio-projectiles of some sort, like those parasite/bug creatures that are charged with energy. They kinda command them to slam into enemies. Check out the "Enemies" video, check it out at 1:40.

While I'd have preferred the Drell to be fishes and not lizards, the best part was their relationship with the Hanar. It really makes the Hanar shine, I don't think any other ME species would be willing to share their homeworld to save another species.

I can already think of one world where NO SPECIES would want to share with.

Asari.Their motives wouldnt be completly altruistic, but maybee thats also the case for the hanar.(Maybee the drell could be use for defenses and are good fighters)
