So, I just got the collector's edition with all the new N7 weapons (plus a cool new hoodie for Sheppard and a rather annoying mech in the shuttle bay). First thing I did was go to the firing range to try out the new guns. I was surprised to find the Eagle is actually an SMG traveling incognito as a pistol. When comparing the stats on it versus those on the Suppressor it looked to me like the Eagle might be supperior. The Suppressor hits harder, but its clip size is quite small, only 10 rounds with an extended clip V, meaning reload time looms large as a drawback. The Eagle has a 24 round clip so I can use that slot for the heavy barrel instead, further increasing the Eagle's hitting power. (The other slot is reserved for the power mag mod.)

In practice, however, I am not sure it worked out the way I thought it would. Right after getting these nifty new weapons I went to Horizon. Well, those bloody Banshees were still a pain, but most of all, I am not sure they went down any faster with the Eagle (with heavy barrel V) than they did with the Suppressor (with extended clip), and maybe even a little slower. (I have armor piercing ammo as a bonus power.) I am not sure the Brutes went down any faster either.

How would you rate the Eagle vs the Suppressor when it comes to stopping power? The biggest advantages I can see with the Eagle are (1) I can get it at the start of the game and (2) it has a much larger spare ammo capacity. As far as hitting power, though, I am not sure I am seeing a difference.

NVM, found my answer: Suppressor I does 383 damage, Eagle I does 42. Suppressor wins by a landslide.

landslide is an understatement, suppressor in SP is quite possibly the most broken gun in the game if you can consistently hit the head.
