Rhetorical question here: Can you not read? Or do you just choose not to read?

The first two DLC are free, F-R-E-E, when you purchase a new copy of the game. How is this so hard for people to understand? :(

What if the codes don't redeem? Then your ****ed?

What if the apocalypse starts no one will get it!

Nice. Try invalidate my concern. -_-

Unlike the Apocalypse which is a very freak occurence and the odds are very unlikely. The odds the codes don't work is actually quite good. Look at Dragon Age as an example. There was a hell of a lot of problems for people with this. I personally feel they have too much day 1 DLC at this point. If the codes fail to redeem they aren't missing out on a single companion, but a vehicle, armor, weapons, and lots of quests from the sound of it.

It's a risk vs reward sort of thing. Now it's starting to seem... less of an anti used sales measure, and more of a we want money later measure.

Let's face it, this system isn't going to be stopping any pirates.

I'd like to know where it was said
that this DLC will be totally free. Is it gonna be just a default
'instant download' hardwired into the disc? Will you get an extra code
inside? I'd like a link please. (That's a serious request)

i posted a link to the press release above, so far it is only confirmed that the first dlc (not including the hammerhead) is free.

I can't give you a link, but I have a feeling that it's basically going to work similar to Dragon Age The Stone Prisoner DLC.

I know I don't like the idea because of where it could lead. At what point will the game's ending become 'Free DLC for all new games'. I can appreciate them not liking the second-hand game market, but greed will inevitably push them to things that are.. questionable.

What's next? Having to buy ammo through DLC?

cry more, games are a business and with piracy new avenues need to be explored.

Oh yeah? Why should I suffer because some loser steals the game? Why make the people that actually pay for it (like me) suffer huh? When I shell out $65 for a game I expect it to come with all the bells and whistles needed to play it to full enjoyment, not go "Oh I need to go download a vehicle for this".

those buying things legitimately suffering because others steal is nothing new at all, prices are regularly inflated to make up for other people stealing an item, however, this version of suffering, oh no, you have to wait for a few minutes to download something free, is much more favorable to pretty much every other system out there

Well I should've elaborated, I'm paying $65 'cause I'm getting the CE.

What's this? A non sequitor?  How the hell did you come to that conclusion?

I'll have you know that I have the PC Collectors Edition pre-ordered from Amazon since months ago.

It states we get Zaeed free on day one, and the code gives us access to the "network". It doesn't say the others will be free. It just states the next pack will include the Hammerhead among other things.

What do you want me to think, you strike me as the type of person to be scared to fly because what if a terrorist bombs the plan!!!!

The DLC was handled poorly with DAO so now Bioware can take notes and rectify the situation If you buy the game new you have a Cerberus Network Card you get all this for free.. if that card doesn't work well.. take it up with bioware its not the end of the freaking world.

Oh, thanks for the original english link. This one really doesn't state thats its going to be free, but 4players does, this was not an error in translation. They probably made a mistake or they know more than we do

Gotta wait for official confirmation on that one.

Personally my guess is this. Mass Effect 2 barely fit onto the 2 disk from what we've been told. And if they had added the hammerhead in the original game, it would have taken space on both disks to make those missions accessible at any point in the game.

This is a smart solution to this problem as it will no longer take up any memory space on the disk, and will be better available during the game from a developers and programmers standpoint.

It seems like they would reward you with that new game purchase to combat used game sales.  But like you said there is conflicting statements so we will need confirmation.

If it's Day 1 DLC, then it's free for those who have bought a new copy of ME2.

Period

You look like the type of person who jumps to wild conclusions with no actual facts.

See what I did thar?

So far you haven't actually attempted to use logic or facts to debate against me. You just keep hurling your opinion at me like hammering it into me is going to get me to listen. I MIGHT listen if you bring up some valid claims, and if you have evidence even better!

Also how do you know they improved it and rectified the situation? What if their networks are just as unstable and crappy as before. Where as you are pure speculation. I have a precident for my reaction. Their Dragon Age servers are crap. They time out in game, they don't redeem DLC as well as they should.

I can go start the game and it's more frequent the game can't connect to my online profile that it does it will.

Have you seen these new netowork features? Are you going on good faith? If so state you have faith in the system. Don't claim it's fact that my opinion with actual facts is irrelivant because you think so.

the "reward" for purchasing the game is free access to the cerberus network and the free day 1 dlc (aka the merc, normandy crash site +mission)

seriously though everything I've said is slated in reality you are an alarmist that thinks the worst will happen.  Likely because you were burned by DAO.
