So the Hammerhead (Hover-Mako) is going to be (free) DLC only?

A very bizarre decision.

Not really, it's a situation like Shale in Dragon Age.

They didn't have enough time to polish it on the level of the rest of content before they locked down the content for production.  So, they moved it to DLC so they could finish it.

If it helps you sleep at night, believe whatever you want.  I wish Bioware would just be honest about why they are generating day one DLC with every game from now on (I'm guessing the answer to that is, "EA has demanded it").  However, I can't really blame a company for wanting to get some small revenue out of a used game sale (or discouraging a used game sale altogether).  I just want them to be honest about it and stop all this "my dog made Shale too big to fit thru a door..." crap.

Thier story about the Hammerhead should be entertaining, at least.

You look like the type of person who jumps to wild conclusions with no actual facts.

See what I did thar?

So far you haven't actually attempted to use logic or facts to debate against me. You just keep hurling your opinion at me like hammering it into me is going to get me to listen. I MIGHT listen if you bring up some valid claims, and if you have evidence even better!

Also how do you know they improved it and rectified the situation? What if their networks are just as unstable and crappy as before. Where as you are pure speculation. I have a precident for my reaction. Their Dragon Age servers are crap. They time out in game, they don't redeem DLC as well as they should.

I can go start the game and it's more frequent the game can't connect to my online profile that it does it will.

Have you seen these new netowork features? Are you going on good faith? If so state you have faith in the system. Don't claim it's fact that my opinion with actual facts is irrelivant because you think so.

You mad?

seriously though everything I've said is slated in reality you are an alarmist that thinks the worst will happen.  Likely because you were burned by DAO.

Yes I am mad.

Alarmist? I can go and claim that you are so laid back your the person that goes to rage and whine about people after you don't prepair and ask questions.

PROVE your claims are grounded in reality. Where does it say the cerberus network is improved and going to be better than Dragon Age? Source it or shut up.

Show me proof that they state they have worked ont he problems regarding DLC not redeeming.

I know the world won't end if I don't get it, but I don't want to lose more money than I have to. I don't have a lot of wiggle room regarding my already small budget for entertainment. I don't want to pay more than I have to.

does someone know what exactly "one time use" means?
does it mean i can download the dlc ONCE on my first install of the game, and when i need to reinstall my pc i can't get it anymore? (like musik on amazon)
OR does it mean i can use the code to register the content with my EA account and re-download it later using the same account? (like games on steam)

Its definitely not clear from that press release whether the Hammerhead DLC will be free, since its not release day DLC. Regardless, the mere fact of it not being release day content means that the Hammerhead likely can't be used through the core game, just in a few side missions. So regardless of whether its free or not, its a bit of a disappointment.

You use the code once on your EA/Bioware account then it no longer works

I've never seen a larger group of people whine about everything they can in one forum. I'm wondering why some of you are even going to buy the game, since you obviously don't care for it. I keep seeing the same names over and over complain about something in every topic I go into. You should probably go find a game you will enjoy instead of crying about things that you don't even have all the details for, nor have you played even ten seconds of.

Or go have a coke and relax a little. The stress levels of some of you must be enormous,

OK so it's for extra revenue, either way I'm fine with it.  I have no problem supporting my favorite developer of all time.

Oh, and EA = Bioware now.  They've been fully incorporated and the good doctors are now executives (VP's) in EA.  So if you have something negative to say about EA, it applies in full to Bioware.

You register a code, and you can download it whenever you want, as long as your account and EA servers continue to exist.

that can still mean either option.

I hope it is free. I'm still confused on why they didn't include it in the game...

Well i should have been more clear, it would be tied to the account and you should be allowed to re-download it anytime seeing as peoples hardware can change.

Glad to hear it. I was really disappointed at the prospect of all the side missions being land at drop zone, shoot mercs, fgo back to drop zone. Exploration was one of my favorite parts of ME1 (I know I'm in the minority but who cares ) so I'm very excited to see it will be back in some capacity.  :o

As for this..

Seeing as how ME 2 is using the social site and EA accounts just like Dragon Age does, and seeing as how you can download your dlc to as many computers as you please with your Dragon Age EA account, I'd eat my very nice Guiness hat if ME2 DLC didn't work the exact same way.

For the topic at hand, isn't this uncharted worlds DLC a kind of good thing? A lot of people didn't like them in the first, so the main ME team made a focus on the other stuff, and had a DLC team make it for people who DID enjoy the uncharted worlds/mako sections. Seems good to me  :)

I know I don't like the idea because of where it could lead. At what point will the game's ending become 'Free DLC for all new games'. I can appreciate them not liking the second-hand game market, but greed will inevitably push them to things that are.. questionable.

I totally understand your point, Chaos, and completely agree with it. I'm not saying I love DLC, hell, I actually hate it, since it forces me (gun to my head, tears rolling down my cheeks as I hand them my credit card =] ) to purchase things I think should have been included with the game.
I just have a dislike for lazy, uninformed opinions. Especially when the information to make an informed opinion is in the first post.

You still haven't given me a source for where they have improved upon the network issues of Dragon Age. For the record.

and you have no way of knowing that the second round is not free as well, there is conflicting statements on the english and polish sites so... yeah

never said I know, but I am sceptical...

it has been said that bioware is planning a whole bunch of dlc for me2 all the way to me3, they supposedly even have a dedicated dev team just for that.
so.. one day they gonna start demanding money for the dlc.

judging from past experience, in this case DA:O, the first bioware title with an integrated dlc system, one dlc is free as an incentive to buy the game new, and the rest will cost money...

Not so long ago this "DLC" thing didnt even exist... and companies still put out complete games... is it so hard to assume that BW is just supporting its game with additional content instead of money grabbing?

good job quoting the wrong person there, and I'm not giving you anything because unless it's confirmed by the people who use it there is no way to know..  so you basically ask for something that is not possible,  In hopes you win the argument because you ask for information impossible to confirm.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. They have every right to combat the second-hand gaming industry with methods that don't impede the customer.
