Except that they've been gender-swapped.
Are they Hawke and the Warden? Who knows?!

-At a certain point in the game, if you look closely in the background, you can see the outline of a stout person slowly going up into the Tear in the sky. (not an easter egg... but would be funny)
-Ser Pounce-a-lot as a zombie.
-Posters in Fereldan that say "Stay Calm and Call the Inquisition" if friendly within an area.
-In Orlais, the Inquisitor runs into a traveling troupe of performers, who put on a play involving a mage lead, with a childhood friend, a princess, an assassin, a mercenary, a big qunari, an elf inventor, a dwarf with a drinking problem, and a little girl abomination all trying to save the world from an evil Templar who turns out to be manipulated by an evil maleficar.
Edit: Or, maybe the Inquisitor is asked to play the lead in the play and has to say certain lines right or purposefully do them wrong...

You find a dead NPC who looks exactly like your warden, and then later another one who looks just like your Hawke.
Except that they've been gender-swapped.
Are they Hawke and the Warden? Who knows?!
And an unidentified girdle lying nearby?

But but but Bioware said that Hawke was "the single most important character in the world of Dragon Age."

You meet someone who was saved by them, and when you ask about their names, that person says:
"The man's name was some bird, the wife... Fisher, I think?"
(The Hawk and Fisher series from Simon R. Green anyone?)
