So since the last games, you had a choice of picking which place you would tackle first in the story, and since I was

always a dwarf on my warden, i would go to Orzammar first just to have other dwarves around and to interact with

them and it always was fun no matter how many times i played. In DA:2 since i wanted Merril as my LI all the time, i

would go to the Sundermount to get her and do that quest. Now being able to be a Dwarf again in Inquisition, but with

bigger reaction, if possible, i will be heading to recruit the Dwarves first  and dealing with their part of the story first and

maybe getting a Dwarf keep as my main one.  So what about you guys? :D

Maybe the Fade won't be as bad as DA:O, unless it bigger than all of DA:2 lol

It depends on the choices I'm given and the rationale for each one being important enough to include in the story. I suspect that I'll spend some time exploring the area I'm in and leveling up.

Where it sounds most exciting.

Or possibly follow Varric's recommendation, if he has one.

Weisshaupt Fortress. I want to see the old griffon stables. Maybe find some old griffon bone preserved in amber... who knows...

Depends what sounds more urgent, most likely. Or possibly the one that I expect will lead to getting a companion, because I generally like to pick them up ASAP.

Tevinter or the mages-camp of Andoral's Reach if possible, then Fereldan again (not that i want to got back there necessarily but i'd think that i'd better have some more levels, when going to the Orlesian Court and maybe even to their capital of Val Royeaux) and then possibly the elfs and dwarfs (making Val Royeaux my last destination...or at least not among my first ones)

greetings LAX

I usually go with just picking up  my LI and then favorite place, but this is going to be different, since it is more "open world" than the other games.

I tend to do the same, just run in and try and get my companions as fast as possible. I'm hoping that Val Royeaux is accessible early on because I hope to see what I imagine is one of the two most advanced cities in Thedas. And because Celene intrigues me :P

That strikes me as sort of like wanting to tour a concentration camp. People do it, but I don't see the appeal.

"And over here is where hope gave way to despair and human dignity was tossed aside like so much chaf."
"Oh, those are some lovely trestles."

Well if it is like DA:O, you will have to complete the place first, to get them  and somewhat like in DA:2, but in DA:2 it was much smaller quests, unlike getting Wynne, where you had to complete the mage tower.

Get all the companions!
I'm not sure where they are going to be but I will be traveling to find and recruit them.

whichever makes more sense for the narrative in my mind. If all are equally viable, I would go with the one my character would identify with first. In later playthroughs, I would likely go by companion gainers first and whichever order makes the most sense in my head after seeing them all.

Well like I said early, the companions seen to be bound to completing a certain faction first, like Wynne and Oghren. But yea I prefer if it was a small quest like in DA:2 to get companions, but seen like that came with the small world of DA:2 and since DA:I is bigger i suspect it to be more than simply little quests. More like complete a faction quest to unlock a companion from that certain faction or like neutral have more random quest like Zervan.

This is what I suspect, but I doubt it will be that much longer than Origins. They could also pull a KOTOR and give us the majority of our companions during the prologue. I prefer the way they've been doing it, but it's not inconceivable.

In my usual playthroughs I get most of my companions right away like I said, but one of two always seem to get the short end of the stick either through fault of my own (Oghren and Shale, though the former has an entire expanse where he can catch up with you) or because the devs simply buried them there (Sebastian coming in at Act 2)

I',m actually really curious to see if we pick up Vivienne in Val Royeuax or Montsimmard since both have circles of Magi and are in Orlais.

If I had to guess, you will only be able to progress to areas that you have opened. Without level scaling, they are likely going to have to make you run a 'corridor' pattern across the world. You take Keep A, that grants access to area B and C. You might get to choose which of those to go to next. However, I don't see the game being setup like Skyrim where you can just choose to hop on a wagon and start in any city you wish.

Well in DA:O and DA:2 , you can start your story off anywhere that you feel like. So if they take away that in DA:I i don't want to see how that will turn out for people, where they put you on a set story path. Like other people said, you should be able to train in one area and get stronger so then you can go to the place you want to go to in that level zone.
