Very very true. Tactical Cloak -> Proximity Mine -> Shoot -> Reload Cancel -> Tactical Cloak -> Proximity Mine etc. etc. etc. It gets old very quickly.

I started playing the GT as a flamer, then switched to the hipster flamerless one and now I'm back to a pure HM-less Flamer. Apart from the Indra, Exe Pistol, Typhoon and the Phaeston, I despise all the other weapons so weapon based characters are extremely limited for me.

The Talon in the right team spawn control setup is by far the most OP kit in the game. Outside of that setup it is just regular OP like everything else.

As far as GI vs GT they are both great but I have to go with GI it is a lot more versatile.

Yes; with the last rank on elite mercenary, regenerate mines 100 percent faster, along with granade capacity V or assualt load out, you can spam mines and not run out; not even the melee GI can out DPS on gold, and is a different story on plat.

I always skip Hunter Mode on Geth Inf/Sol/Eng because it hurts my eyes.
So without HM, I think
* Geth Trooper is better as a power kit
* Geth Infiltrator is better as a gun kit, especially sniper rifles
* They are equal as melee kits. Because dat cloak and dat fortification

You guys underestimate the Aoe powers of the melee GI, it + Venom can rape spawns better than cane mines and still have better weapon damage than the trooper with something like a hurricane side arm.

Did you know that a Javelin GT has exactly the same TTK for all the enemies in this game than a GI Javelin?

How's that? He has Cloak + Proxy. I understand for minions it'll be akin but for bosses idk. Plus, they have the same passives iirc.

i could care less of what kits you use tbh. People are too much of an epeen here that it's actually funny. if someone wants to spam flamer/tgi harrie/reegarcheese/gi hurrdurr, you're being an idiot if you judge them based on their subjective definition of "fun".. Everything boils down to one's preference. Whether TGI/AIU/GT/GI/Fury, who honestly gives a crap. Elitism is fun and all, at the end of the day.. It's just a game.

Let be clear...

Geth Trooper is really awesome for crowd control. Flamer and no one can touch you.

But Geth Infiltrator is good against bosses, since proximity mines + hunter mode.

You are underestimating the power of flamer reload hiding.

The true TTK, the one which is important, is the time that passes between the first time you start shooting at an enemy, and the time you can start shooting at another. So it includes reload time.

The GI does have a much higher damage output per shot, but it does next to no damage during the reload, while the GT can spam a super powerful flamer in that time.

As FatherOfPearl said, the TTK for any enemy smaller than a Ravager is the time it takes to the Javelin to fire one (head)shot. The only difference is that sometimes, against some enemies, the GI is capable of OHK with bodyshots, while the GT is not. If your aim is true however, they are the same. Even if it's not (Phantoms are not always that easy to headshot) and you score a bodyshot, flamer reload will take care of the remaining bars.

Against stuff bigger than a Ravager, the flamer reload hiding starts to pull its weight. Against a Ravager for example, a GI can OHK it, while a GT will leave it with a few bars on, but the flamer reload will take care of that easily (killing all swarmers in the process, by the way).

That works the same for every other unit.

Brutes? 2 shots.
Banshees? 3 shots/2 if you wait for cloak/flamer to recharge after the first
Scions? 1 shot from the right angle, 2 otherwise
Praetorians? 3 shots

and so on :P

Ok. I assumed you were talking about the flamerless trooper, hence my incomprehension. With this I agree - although I hate flamer too much to use it.
