Oh but you do Ragabul, you do exterminate them. Were there any wolves left alive at teh end of your dao playthrough?Ragabul the Ontarah wrote...

I got nothing against putting normal wolves or even terrotorial ones. But not "you killed my father prepare to die" wolves

Does this also work for mosquitos? If so, then I'm all for pixelsquitos.
I'm willing to bet there'll be lions, tigers, and wolves trying to murder us in-game.

What proof does anyone have that wolves in Thedas aren't a far more aggressive species on Thedas?
(I know... its the whole realism =/= dragons argument.... but it still fits. Keeping a healthy understanding of what is REAL and what is only a game is a good thing.)

I don't see it as an issue. I would find it strange for a predator to not to defend its territory.

I deleted something I was going to say since it might have been misunderstood . Rolls eyes.
I guess this must be the year of living dangerously for me.
Grey wolves are no longer a protected species in the USA.
All those grey hairs I have.....oh well.
Of course some people think getting rid of the curse in DAO got rid of the werewolves, but we know that isn't so.
So that people like the OP won't be sending unsolicited messages to players, I'll let the mods do the ripping .
Humans tend to have a gamey taste for us werewolves, .
We're looking forward to returning in DAI.

Well, considering most of them were Blight wolves, I'm still not seeing the problem.

Unfortunately it has nothing to do with that. Developers just hate wolves, just look at games that are set in "the real world".Navasha wrote...
There is also a separation of our reality and what exists in the game world. Sure, wolf attacks are practically non-existent in OUR world, that doesn't mean its the case in Thedas. Werewolves, dragon, abominations are pretty non-existent in OUR world too.

It's also funny that the werewolves in dao were actually more peaceful, and basically just misunderstood. Whereas the regular wolves have this deathly vengeance against you.
You can't even run away to the next map because "you can't leave this area until you have murdered everything that moves"

No fdgvdddvdfdfbdfb it's people who kill people. Though i'd like to see killer turtles instead of wolves now.
I wish the fade worked like the Shadow in the WOD games......then animal attacks would REALLY be freaking fun

Oh please, the wolves were starving - your party just showed up in the wrong place at the wrong time. There was a Blight on, remember? It didn't just affect humans and elves - it was also destroying the wolves' habitat. You were dinner.

No, I did not. In fact, I even told someone that the post that they made towards you was inappropriate. Though I'd hate to think you were making public comments about moderation.
(In case it isn't clear for everyone, I'd really rather not deal with it. Thanks)

I don't know if it's so much a hatred. On some level it's a trope, so yeah it probably gets over used.
Wolves are seen as pack predators (rightly or wrongly), and can also be seen as a suitable foe for an adventuring party (as opposed to say, the killer snapping turtles). On the one hand, it may be possible for them to be someone respected as powerful and cunning animals.
Bears also come up a lot, for a lot of the same reasons I think.

also, wolves are a common enemy in such games BECAUSE of their status as awesome predators
