No - if you only care about getting URs, your chances are better if you buy PSP, AP, and RP. That doesn't mean you will get less URs from SP, it just means that your probability of getting URs are less for SP.DesioPL wrote...
If i good understand... Better buy Spectre Pack instead of Premium Spectre Pack for UR's?
Buy SP if you want Rares and UR, but you also still want other things like consumables and Uncommon Gear.

This is confusing. Seems like the sample size should = number of packs bought (i.e., not double counting PSP, AP, and RPs.ComradeShepard7 wrote...
I considered each potential UR card to be one sample when generating the confidence intervals so each SP gives one sample and each of the other packs gives two. The sample sizes so far are...
- PSP: 6832 (3416 packs)
- SP: 142
- AP: 400 (200 packs)
- RP: 400 (200 packs)
Example: buy ten packs of SPs and ten of PSPs , and get one double UR in the PSP and one UR in the SP, percents are 2/10 for the PSP and 1/10 in the SP. This accounts for the extra rarity (?) of double UR drops.
I've taken to only buying SPs (I only have UR weapons to go) and I get a UR upgrade every so often (haven't been counting).

I've been keeping notes on each pack I've bought for the past 5 months (since I maxed everything except UR weapons). I'll send you an email with the info.
That would be absolutely awesome if you could do that.

Uhh... aren't Arsenal Packs the best because they have an increased chance for weapon drops?
It depends on how the calculation is done. The whole point of this is to quantify the actual drop rates so we can say with certainty which one gives the best results for UR drops.

Rare card slots have the same chance of giving you UR's. PSP, AP, and RP all give you two rare card slots for 99,000cr.Henry Jones Jnr wrote...

The reason for counting the samples this way is I operated under the assumption that each slot is calculated independantly. This may get changed depending on if this actually turns out to be the case.

I'm buying only SPs, and the occasional JEP, because always having good equipment is better than another UR rank. I only care for a handful of the UR weapons anyway. Might take me a few hundred more hours to max the manifest compared with buying AP/PSP, but I don't really care at this point.
Only two things I very much want to get before ME4 are a javelin X and wraith X.

If you could keep track of your SP purchases and send the results my way I would greatly appreciate it.

This is legit, and it reflects my anecdotal evidence for APs being the best buy.
Also I have some quarter flipping data that I would like to share:
1998 and 2002 edition quarters.
1998 flipped 40 times, 26 Heads (0.65), 14 Tails (0.35)
2002 flipped 30 times, 16 Heads (0.53), 14 Tails (0.47)
If you want to get tails you should flip the 2002 quarter.

Will maxing out my consumable gear (IE cyclonic mods....etc) make me always get level 3 or 4 consumables? And after that, with all consumables maxed, what the heck will the game have left to give me except URs?

Will try and keep a note of them from now. Still got plenty of URs to go in any case.

Confidence intervals, how do they work?

SP's would be the best bet with time included in your analysis.
You have to consider the fact that you get a lot less high end equipment in PSP's compared to SP's.
More high end equipment= faster games= faster credits.
Then there's speed running with rockets.
Now my head hurts...

Need larger sample size. Coin toss is not unbiased to begin with.

You're not looking at time playing to get the credits. The only way to up your UR unlocks is with game time efficiency. The more you can buy in less time is better than plodding along and then buying the packs considered to have the best drop rate. Buying 100 SP's in 3 days and reloading all your high end equipment to do it again is more efficient than buying 60 packs in 3 days and only getting maybe 1/2 of your high end equipment back... which would make for slower games.
SP's would be the best bet with time included in your analysis.

The only point of this is to determine the drop rate for URs. People can then use this data along with what you mentioned to determine what they go with.

Also this is an unfortunate analogy because a coin toss is not actually random. It is governed by the laws of physics and what side up the coin starts on.
