Fair enough. I apologise. You are right, the OP is entitled to his opinion ( even if I think he/she is high on crack ). The main tone of my original post was in reply to his tone and language used in his opening post ( which has since been edited since I first read it weeks ago ), he sounded like an opinionated troll and I responded in kind because I got defensive.

Don't worry. We're cool.B)

Anyway. How did you personally feel about Mass Effect 3?

I am very reluctant to go 'there' since every time i try to say something positive or neutral about ME3  I start to rant and I come off as just another 'hater'.

The most positive things I can say about ME3 was that I loved most of the storyline levels ( with some obvious exceptions), the improved skill trees, more weapons, more armour customisation. I thought the combat was pretty good although Shepard's running animation in ME3 will haunt me forever and go down as one of the worst things ever. As much as ****ed about not getting any of my ME2 squad mates back I loved Vega, Javik and EDI, Casey Hudson was not wrong on this point, part of the fun in ME, ME2 and ME3 was meeting and getting to know new squad mates ( shame he was to ignorant to see the other side of the argument, you can't introduce new characters, make the gamer fall in love with them, then cast them aside without giving us a proper chance to say goodbye to them ). I hated eveything else about ME3. The storyline levels work but everything in between feels like it is lacking, the finished product just doesn't work for me at all.!

I have the ME Trilogy set and have started doing a full run though about a month ago and I noticed slot things I didn't notice b4.

Doing this on my phone so can't get into specifics just yet but of all three game I really enjoy ME2 the least. I love the new crew but the world definitely felt bigger and more alive in ME1 and ME3. Too many people felt like they were just there in ME2.

Still love all 3 game though nonetheless and I have a new respect for the Mako now. Bring back vehicle sections Bioware!

I like ME3 the best. Now it's such a drag going through the first two with a new character.

Never had any regrets playing the trilogy.
But ME1 is a chore to play today.
ME2 is fine gameplay and story wise.
ME3 still putting a lot of hours in so nuff said.

There's a lot of dislike for Mass Effect 3 on this forum, which is strange for a forum dedicated to Mass Effect 3 - a game now 18 months old. Have you folks really spent 18 months venting your spleen? Make love, not war guys.

My opinion is virtually exactly the same as it was when it was released in march.

The story was stronger than Mass Effect 2 and [more persistent than Mass Effect 1 (how many of ME1's side missions were even remotely related to the main plot?).

And how many of say, Fallout's Side missions were legitimately connected to taking care of your water problem, or finding the G.E.C.K.?

Long ago, someone had made a chart on this forum listing the side missions of ME3 and categorized them in particular groups - the amount of "fetch quests" or Story-Lacking missions in ME3 were higher than any other in the trilogy(though to be fair, the plot quests were the same as ME1).

~~~
I'd view Mass Effect 3 as having the best combat, the best budget/set pieces, and some of the better consequences from previous games...though it was balanced more toward the death of characters than plot-relevant ones like letting the rachni queen live or destroying the collector base. However, there's no way I can legitimately say the game was the best in the series. The lack of dialogue options, lack of interesting new characters, the ending, and a few other bits keep it from holding that place in the trilogy.
I loaded my ME1 saved to ME2 with all the DLC. Played through it for the 5th time. It always a blast.
Then loaded ME2 Saved into ME3 with all the DLC. This is my 8th time through and this was the best one yet. I hope we will get to load ME3 saved into ME4.
ME3 CE with all the DLC to me is the best game. I enjoy the online Multi players.
Love that Black Window Sniper gun.
Mass Effect Trilogy is the only way to go and get ready for ME4.
Is everything in this thread not enough elaboration for you? Do you really think anything other than what has been said already won't be said again by asking this?
No offense, but if you ask me this whole thread is nothing but an attempt to ****** off people. The whole title spells it out, and the fact that his first post was edited by a mod is telling.
I love them all, but I will say Me1 has become so boring to me after 7 or 8 playthroughs. ME2 is still awesome, though I've warn it quite a bit too. ME3 is still fun, especially the DLCs because I have probably played them 3 times each. Love them all, but I'd still put ME2 at #1 with ME3 pretty close behind
I want to know why. I want to know HIS opinion. Do not automatically assume his reasons have been already stated in this thread.
It was edited because I called people who liked the predecessors "idiots blinded by nostalgia"
And how did you think those people would respond when being called idiots? Is your next answer  "I didn't know they'd get offended by that".
Cut the crap, this argument has been done to the death, there is 5 pages before this explaining why ME3 is mediocre, in fact there's probably 2 years worth of threads explaining why people didn't like ME3. This thread is nothing but flamebait, you already practically admitted that.
1. You assumed it was troll becuase it was edited, I told you why it was edited. What you're trying to argue now has nothing to with anything
2.Mediocre is a subjective word. I want to know why he finds it mediocre, not anybody else. If you don't like this thread, why are you still posting here?
How so? Using harsh words like that are much more imperative,descritpive, emotive, etc, emphasizing how strongly I feel about this subject.
Assumed? There is nothing to be assumed, if a mod is editing your post and then stating it was because it had Inflammatory content, then its pretty clear what the intentions were. I
I think the real question to be asked, is why you're posting at all.
I like each game for different reasons, but I've sank most hours into ME3. Heck, the multiplayer alone has gotten over 300 hours of gaming. I love the combat mechanics in ME3 the most, but I do find charm in the two previous games too. Just started a new paragon (ugh) playthough on ME1.:)
ME3 was probably the best of the series as an actual game. The combat flows much better than either of the other two and is actually fun and engaging in its own right rather than just some tiresome interlude between dialogue sequences. There was also real variety in the weapons and powers and even though a lot of them are useless it's a fun challenge to try out suboptimal builds and loadouts to try and make them work. The only problem here was that the game lacked any real diversity in enemy selection or any real bosses to speak of.
The story is also much stronger than people really give it credit for, since it's a lot tighter and focused on the central plot. There's a real sense of urgency and desperation in the air which was completely lacking in the first two games, where you can spend the vast majority of the time off ignoring the supposedly galaxy-threatening menace to drive around decrypting rocks or resolving your crew's daddy issues. The ending was obviously problematic, but some the earlier sequences like Tuchanka and Rannoch were truly epic and actually work much better if you go in without an import and actually have to deal with the repercussions of making the tough choices.
