Bought it during the Summer Steam Sale and started playing yesterday. I've already encountered some screen-tearing issues during the cutscenes and, admittedly, textures could be better. There also seems to be a sync issue with the audio because the character animations when they talk look weird (heck, the animations themselves are a bit odd). I don't suppose there's a mod out there that can fix most of these issues?

As for gameplay, I've only just begun. I still have to get the hang of pre-emptively attacking your targets, not to mention I have to figure out the rules for the turn-based combat. Any suggestions as to how I should approach this game?

PS: Naturally, I have the audio in Japanese with English subtitles.:)

I am too drunk to give you tips, but Last Remnant is not that bad. The combat system is somewhat unique and the formation system has potential. The problem is that the writing and story is just about everything that people make fun of in JRPGs. But aside from a handful of fights, it is not a difficult game as a whole. So just read some FAQs and do the usual.

Its not a terrible game. I picked it up the same way on the Steam Summer sale in fact. The only thing I really hated was the PC interface. I'd probably have enjoyed it more on the PS3, but it never came out for that. I think the hardest thing for me to wrap my mind around was treating each group of soldiers as a single unit on the battlefield.

I didnt notice any synch issues. So no help there unfortunately.

Don't grind. There's a weird way that combat difficulty works in that game. I recommend reading an FAQ about it.
