I don't have the capabilities to get the DLC, so all this extra stuff kinda makes me mad. I feel like I'm only buying part of the game, but for full price. An extra mission or two isn't bad, but with ME2 I feel like I'm getting ripped off a bit.

You're still buying the full game that reviewers gave amazing scores to... your missing out on some free bonuses, but none of which are necessary for the enjoyment of a complete game.

Correct. There is nothing in the DLC that is needed to have a full-game experience. The missions that come with the DLC are superflous.

I'm excited for the Hammerhead but disappointed that it's not day 1.

Now that, my friend, is a sensible response. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long.

Phoenixblight and you know this after 1 post???

No I have read the articles and reviews. Brain + Science = Truth.  Read the reviews all of them state the hammerhead is non existant and there is no planet exploring just like ME 1.

2nd DLC pack states:

Pack two will include new in-game vehicle the Hammerhead. This pack also contains new missions and in-game items, plus the Cerberus armour and M-22 Eviscerator Shotgun.

See new missions with the Hammerhead on the 2nd DLC. SInce there is no Planet exploring in vanilla ME 2 and suddenly there is the release of DLC with Hammerhead AND missions. Its not that hard to figure out.

1) So you can beat the game without the Hammerhead?
2)If so why DL it,what use does it have???
3)If we have to have it,it's gonna be free.
4)I'm saying if someone buys the game late and doesn't want to pay for the Hammerhead???It won't be needed???So what purpose does it serve????
5)If it's part of the game I think it will deff be free???

1)Yes the reviews that have been mentioned say that you will land where its revelant for the mission so no exploring neccessary like ME 1

2) I assume since you don't need the Hammerhead for the main game, they will make a few missions that will require the use of the Hammerhead

3) GO back to 1. Hammerhead is not needed for the core game. DOn't be dense

4) GO back and read 1 and 2. We are not sure if its free or not it hasn't been confirmed one way or another so chill out.  THe hammerhead is not Day1 DLC, the DLC for the Hammerhead and missions will come later as stated on the IGN article.

5) You like to repeat the same questions atleast 3 times don't you?

+ While you were trying to correct me did you even read the link you sent???
BioWare also revealed two new DLC packs will be coming for free: one at launch and the other soon after it.

Interesting idea, overall. Well, so long as the first stuff is all perfectly free, to promote new game sales....

Sounds like it's about more then DLC though. Sort of a networking thing with news and announcements and whatnot.

I think they want to keep people tied into the game as much as possible.

Lol, I can seriously see me spending like an hour just setting up all the DLC and everything before I even start my playthrough.

I don't think the point here is that the Hammerhead isn't required to beat, or even to enjoy the vanilla game. I know I'll love it without. The issue is whether or not we'll have to pay for something that was heavily implied to be in the game practically from the beginning. The devs teased about it, and certainly could have seen the excitement on the boards. I think what most people want to know is if this was indeed planned from the beginning and chopped out to be DLC, or if they cut it early and added it back in due to the excitement for it on the forums as release approached. If it is indeed the former situation, it's clearly a money grab, if the the former, it's to be appreciated. If we don't have to pay then it doesn't matter either way. Unfortunately I doubt the devs will ever tell us what kind of editing the Hammerhead went through.

u won't know about how planet exploration is until the game launches. there was a fair amount of complaint about the mako, maybe they removed vehicle driving altogether

edit: DLC should be avaliable no matter what country you live in, I got my DA:O DLC just fine ( well after almost an hr of tinkering windows and DA:O settings )

They were going to but it got censored for depicting a vehicle in an overly-aggressive manner.

Well, after reading this (thanks for the info, BTW) I can lay my doubts about connection to the cerberus network to rest.

I won't use the code that comes with the game and stay clear of the DLC. Why? Because this just feels like Dragon Age were you get overpowered items as day one / preorder DLC and have no need in the game to ever change to another set of weapons / armor or whatever you get as "incentive".
Image IPB

I'd rather play it as an RPG where gaining new weapons actually is part of the game and I don't get everything handed on a sliver platter via a download in the beginning.

And the possible AddOn missions - I'll wait for a GOTY Edition later and rather get everything on a disc that I can transfer easily between consoles.

Outside of the DLC, there is no drivable vehicle. Planet exporation has already been shown quite a bit. Esentially you explore the planet from orbit, and if there is a mission the requires Shepard's attention, you will fly down to it in the Kodiak drop ship.

Man, if you didn't get Shale with Dragon Age you missed out on quite a bit.

Just sayin.

Ok. So, we got official confirmation that Cerberus Netwoek card will indeed be in every new copy of ME2.

But what about the information on the official site stating : "Limited Edition Cerberus Network card granting access to bonus content"

Is it possible that CE Cerberus card gives more options?

No it wont , as Chris told us thats another "misscomunication, but hey if you dont like it dont buy the CE its beeing sold out anyway"

As for the whole Hammerhead aint part of the full game experiance crap, so wasnt Shale or Zaeed wont eh?
Without the DLC a lot of the original content will be missed

DLC has proven time and time again to be worthless. Started with Oblivion horse armor, time passed and we got wardens keep which was not worth it. Missions you get for $10 or so are almost always rubbish, I'd much prefer a expansion, a proper instore expansion as those actually do add nicely to the game for the most part (Just think shivering isles vs knights of the nine) and are easily significantly better. History does not lie.
