Hey guys, sorry if this seems like a really really stupid question. My brother has always been the one to get the DLC and stuff since we use to share an xbox 360. This year I finally got one of my own. How do i get the DLC? I don't have XBL, I don't think. Always shared with my bro.
Is your 360 connected to the internet at all... if not then you can't get your DLC (DLC = DownLoadable Content).
There will be 2 ways to get the DLC in Mass Effect 2... One is XBL (which will be the paid stuff) and the second will be via the Cerberus Network which doesn't need XBL but does need an internet connection to your 360. This will be all the free stuff I think.
If any of you have played Assassin's Creed 2 you will probably come across UPlay... My guess is that the Cerberus Network is going to work something like that. UPlay let me get access to DLC without using XBL.
Personally I think the Cerberus Network is great because I don't think Bioware have to send the software to Microsoft for certification first (I may be wrong) and we all know MS hate free stuff so this is probably a way around that.
Now all we need IS THE GAME TO COME OUT... I hate you Americans... gonna get the game BEFORE US BRITS.
I am now going to hide in my cupboard and cry.
Well, I think it does. How do I check?
Do I put in the Cerberus Network code on the Bioware/Mass Effect website in the redeem code section or something? Or does a screen pop up oin the 360?
ah on the X360 on the main menu there is an option i think called cerberus networf and then from that you would just follow the promts and enter your code. P.S im Australia and i get it before you to pommy just i still get it 1 day after the US damn americans get it before me ahahahahahahah i get it before the Pom.

Microsoft have gone and posted up all the dlc for free before the game has even been released.
I hope Bioware sort this out, as i have ordered the CE and i will be extremely p***ed if the people who managed to download it free, get to keep it.
However i cant say i'm surprised, what with the c**kup with the DA:O CE game, this was bound to happen.

I'm a little concerned that Bioware is putting in so many big changes (characters, verhicles) in DLC that comes after the release. Makes me wonder if they had a whole bunch of extra stuff that they couldn't fit on two discs and decided to make it all into DLC. Hmm...
Who really cares what Bioware is thinking or planning to do with THEIR DLC.They are the ones who put all that time and effort into the game so whatever they decide is no concern of mine. I'm just grateful they make great games. It's really just simple math here people ....MONEY= MASS EFFECT 3.

Er... huh? I would assume that, approve or disapprove, prospective customers would care about BioWare's DLC plans. I mean, I think it's a given that they're not making DLC for their own personal edification, but rather so that people will buy it (or, in the case of day-one free DLC, as an incentive to get people to purchase the game itself). This line of argument strikes me as akin to saying "who really cares what McDonald's puts into THEIR hamburgers?" Since it is their intention to sell their product to their customers, I'd be a little surprised if said customers didn't care....
I'm buying the game new (just got my preload notice for the DDE), so I guess it doesn't really affect me. But it kind of makes me sad that this sort of leveraging of DLC against secondhand buyers is accepted seemingly without question nowadays. I mean, I wouldn't ever suggest that BioWare/EA didn't have the right to set up whatever sales model they want for DLC, but speaking as someone who has just recently left the life of a starving college student who couldn't afford to buy games new, I think it's unfortunate.

If it is tolerable for shooters(new maps, game mods, etc), strategies(maps again), but for rpgs there 2 ways of percieving dlcs
1) DLC was a planned content for the game that was cut out from it for some reason(no time, no space, greed)
2)DLC is addition to the game and feels like it doesn't belong in game, because it never ment to be in storyline
both option are bad.
sorry for such a bad english
upd: also there is no way i can buy dlc in my country

My suspicion is that they will get to keep it. For one thing, it was Microsoft (presumably) who screwed it up, not the downloaders, and for another, I'd actually be a little surprised if they had a reliable mechanism for revoking DLC licenses. Particularly since it looks like the download window was kept fairly brief (~1 hour), so I suspect it's not going to be widespread enough to prompt such actions.
However i cant say i'm surprised, what with the c**kup with the DA:O CE game, this was bound to happen.
It seems like BioWare (or EA, or whoever) just can't get this whole DLC thing figured out. The DA:O Return to Ostagar mess also springs to mind.

So is this "Network" in-game or not? I play on console. Does this mean I will have to reach a certain stage in the game to activate the network? Or is Cerberus Network a marketplace download that auto-downloads new content in-game? Or...I dont know

It has NOTHING to do with MS/XBL, I smell BS right now.
Can you imagine if Cerberus network offered the collector armor and gun for free.
I would sue Bioware so hard it will make their grandchildren pay for it.
That is exclusive PAY for content.
How about Bioware inform us that this collector armor will remain exclusive to CE forever.

Don't worry. This has been addressed. There were VERY FEW leaked downloads. Microsoft quickly closed the door as soon as they realized the issue.

I don't know if you have this information, but; Will everyone involved (on Microsoft's end) be made to sit around a circular table, raise their right hands, and slap the person seated to their left? Possibly continuing to do so until they draw blood?
I know, I know... but we can dream can't we?

How do I know if its for pc or not?
Don't worry about it. We made sure that a code for either PC or Xbox will grant you the content for *both* platforms.

I really wonder how the hell MS XBL had the collector armor AT ALL on XBL, it is an exclusive CE item that you have to enter code into EA/Bioware social site to get.

All promotional items (collectors edition and otherwise) are unlocked via a code and downloaded from the xbox live marketplace. These items are only visible to people who have the unlock, but the content is still downloaded from xbox live (from within the game). This makes a simplified user experience (we wanted one central place of downloading content for ME2).
