Only thing I'm confused about here is, is the Hammerhead one of the free things?? Or no??
All signs point to being free. But we will have to wait for some more information.

So the CN is for everyone? Not just people buying the CE?

Nope...i believe that the mission on the 2 DVDs will not need the hammerhead. When you download it, i believe that some missions will be added to you actually use it. If you needed the hammerhead for the "normal" game, some of the reviews would have pointed it.

Okay. Don't want to be rude. We are telling you the word that all editions come with the card came from BIOWARE. What you see listed online is irrelevant.
You are being ridiculous.
But how long ago did Bioware say this?
I would understand it if only one site said it, but every one I tried says it? I'll wait until a Dev replies to this thread.
All those sites you named, GAME, Gamestation? For a start, they're owned by the same company. Also, the info they have is the same info they were given back when the respective products were announced. Back when ME2 first went on GAME's website, there Cerberus card hadn't been announced at all.
And when the CE was first announced - that's when the Cerberus card was announced. So it went into the CE's contents list when that item appeared on the sites. But it was never explicitly stated as coming in all copies until BioWare realised their previous announcement had been misleading, and Chris Priestly made a forum post saying "yeah, sorry, we never said it was EXCLUSIVE to the CE, just that it was in it, it's in all new copies and all versions".
Today is the first time that that info has been put into a press release. So pardon GAME for not updating their info in a few hours. Considering they're still calling the CE's Bonus Disk contents "To Be Finalised". Not to mention the fiasco with DA:O - EA's info burst to GAME didn't include mention of the BDA/Shale codes in the box. So GAME swore blind it wasn't in there. Turns out, they were just wrong.
Stop blindly trusting a third party retailer that's just regurgitating info from their local EA branch that they in turn repeated from what BioWare said months ago, and trust what BioWare said today. Why would you trust a dev post over a press release? It's all BioWare, it's all the same level of trustworthiness.

I find it an ingenious move to withdraw certain content and then offer it, to those who purchased the game, for free. This is both an anti-pirating move as well as an effort to encourage new game sales (instead of used game, which means they lose a potential sale). I have no qualms with it since the content returns to us free of charge for purchasing the game.
Wish more people could see it this way as opposed to the general response of "OMG WTF? BIOWARE IS SOO GREEDY!!"
Agree on both counts

GAME also said that Standard Editions of Dragon Age wouldn't get Stone Prisoner or Blood Dragon Armor and that only the CE would get it. THEY WERE WRONG, BIOWARE WERE CORRECT. Trust in Bioware.Behindyounow wrote...

Don´t know. What i saw and read is that the gathering of minerals is done in a different way now. Well, we will have to wait and see. Only 8 days left.

You've gotta love the attitude of people like that. That is - the people who actively plan on buying it used then complain about being ripped off or that they're missing out. At the end of the day, if that's their plan, they're not BioWare's customers. BioWare doesn't see a penny of their money, so why should they care what they think? Money talks. By doing this, they're encouraging sales of new copies by discouraging used sales. Which is entirely their right.AerykN7 wrote...

If they really cared, they could always wait a few months and pick it up cheap and new. Left 4 Dead 2, just as an example. Within a month of release, Amazon had reduced it from £39.99 to £24.99. That may be a bad example, it's gone up to £29.99 now so £24.99 may have just been for Christmas. But still, it's a tenner less now than it was when it was released two months ago. Anyone who wants all the content of a new copy and a bargain could just wait.
EDIT: Badly worded that last part.

Those who purchase the title new will receive exclusive access to the 'The Cerberus Network,' an in-game pipeline for downloadable content, as well as daily messages and news on upcoming releases for the game at no additional cost. Acess requires players to input a single-use unlock code that comes included with all new copies, retail and digital versions.
...
If you're thinking about buying Mass Effect 2 used, BioWare says fans will have to pay for an activation code to join "The Cerberus Network," though pricing for a code was not revealed in the announcement.
Taken from the IGN article here: http://xbox360.ign.c.../1061782p1.html
It's crisp and clear, Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA, said that with the code included in the new copies (normal or ce), EVERY DLC-Update-Small Addon for the game (that is made available throgh the Cerberus Network) is FREE (since it's included in the price of the game itself), while who buys it used, has to pay the access for it.
We just have to wait and see at the game's release

To summarize:
- Launch day DLC is free.
- The Cerberus card comes with each and every copy of the game. For definitive proof, Search in the old forums, a dev commented on it there.
- As far as anyone knows thus far, the only in-game extra content between the CE and SE is the Collector's armor and weapon.

so.... how can you use the hammerhead in the main game, then? surely you'd have to have specifically-designed planets for it, which surely aren't in the main game, then?
Yes. It will be bundled with it's own N7 missions. They allude to that in the press release.

yes they do allude to it, but that's not proof, and just how many would we get - enough to justify a whole view vehicle?
