There should be a seperate Solo Mode without any objectives for ME4.

This would put everyone on a level playing field to go for fast solo times and encourage lots of healthy competition amongst very good players. Right now luck or is too much a factor in determining how quick a solo time is or will be.

Offcourse since this mode will not have any objectives we will not need to be paid for it. It will just be for a challenge and the spirit of competition. Those who still dont like soloing or this new mode can completely ignore it and play the regular oldschool version of ME3 with 0-127 other players in ME4.

Objectives make or break good solo players.

Of course that said someone can make it where they never have to deal with certain objectives on PC.

Eh, part of soloing is the skill in execution of the objectives, even if you limit yourself to Pizzas/Hacks/Escorts. I agree that there should be an optional no objective mode, but it shouldn't be the standard for soloing.

Why no objectives? Make it so that you can choose the objective. As NT said, doing the objective the right way is a very big part of solo speedruns.

Well, we can modify the coalesced to get good objective as most of speedrunners did on PC.

I dont mind doing the objectives if I know what I will get and can prepare accordingly. But some of us are not blessed with having the luck to get 3 escort or 3 pizza objectives and are turned off from soloing because of it. I just want the element of luck to be less of a factor, that is all.

Or they could have made devices not so ridiculous like they should have done 18 months ago. Pretty much every objective on every map has about 30s - 1min completion, Rio notwithstanding, but devices are usually about 75s even on small maps, and that's under ideal conditions. Excessive running might go to 90, and being interrupted or getting an unlucky spot can easily push it past 2 minutes. You can tank through Escorts/Hacks/Bad Pizzas with Ops Packs and switch Targets or cheese them with thermals, but there really isn't anything you can do to reduce the annoyance of devices. Can't reduce the time, can't pre-empt their position, can't "tank" through them or otherwise boost yourself and can't give yourself 200% speed + Cabal dodge on every character in order to reach the next device in less than 5 seconds.

Considering that "upload" based objectives (hacks, escorts) scale with player number, I don't see how devices remained un-nerfed since the early days. I dunno how much work it would take to make potential completion time balanced for each objective on each map, but that would be an ideal solution.

Soloing itself is doing something that was designed for 4 men, with all the bizzareness and objectives.

I wouldn't like to solo in specific environment for that, that just doesn't make any sense.

Soloing without objectives would be too damn easy.

On other hand, i would love to have some bonus for soloers like we have with Hack and Drone. (Which is common sense game mechanic, but still) Like shorter disable times and less tough assassinate targets, but that's it.

Alternatively, the objectives should be balanced. It is pretty ridiculous how much easier (or faster) a short escort is vs 4devices or kill 4 Praetorians.

Me? since I knew objectives like Disables could be taken out of my live..... well...........

You have to consider soloist constitute a small part of the ME3MP playerbase anyways. EA isn't going to put money into catering to that small part of the fanbase.

And again if not for objectives several people could hold one position the entire match with RHA and kill the whole wave budget. If you make things too easy, too predictable it gets boring quickly.

Nah, make the objectives stay, but make sure it's possible to pick your objectives.


And somebody better give me a good goddamn reason why loading times count towards the total match time.

It's not really the fault of devices. It's a stupid "spawn the same enemy you've killed 5 feet away" system 

Plus I see PC people are removing them.

I'm all for development of new game modes, but I personally wouldn't choose for BW to devote many resources to solo-specific game modes (put those resources toward single-player). I'd rather they spend time developing new ideas for co-op play and customization.
