Do you guys reckon we'll still get it a day earlier - on the Wednesday - if we've pre-ordered it?

Whenever I've pre-ordered a game from EB they phone me the day before, like 10 in the morning, to come pick up my reserved copy before they put them on the shelves for the next day. I've RSVP'd to it, but I'm not sure if there's any point if I'll already have my CE copy a day beforehand.

Always Sydney & Melbourne. I can't fault this. But I can laugh sadly.

I had a chat when I was asking about Midnight Releases in Adelaide's main EB, the guy said they only got like 70 preorders.

Argh! That's the same day school starts! Why? Why not a day earlier? I so would have gone to the Brisbane one...

Where do you go to school? My school diary says we go back on Feb. 1st, so I get four days to play before VCE eats up all my time.

Are you private? That might explain why. =P

...I could always miss the first hour of the new year. =P

So we simply give our details, receive a confirmation email, and we're allowed entry into EB Games on the 28th to purchase a copy? No need to pre-order the game first or enter anything in the promotion code field?

Nope, an ordinary suburban Melbourne public school.

odds are that some shop will break the street date the day before.

And yeah, this launch is very pre-order unfriendly. I'd already put my money down @ another EB. So what's the exact steps for the store to store pre-order transfer again?

Go to the EB where you want to pick it up from, and tell the staff that you have a pre-order at a different EB and would like to transfer it. They'll call the place where you placed the original pre-order and will arrange for the cash you put down to be transferred to their store. They'll then give you a receipt confirming the transfer, making you a very happy camper.

To those wondering about transfering your pre-orders, I did it last week. The staff organise a gift card transfer, allowing you to change where you pick up your copy, and it took less than ten minutes.
Getting excited about the Melbourne launch!

Err, this I would like to know. Well, clarified. Would be nice if I could just rock up with my ME2 CE preorder from the Morayfield eb and get it there!

We were in Toronto last summer for Fan Expo. Where were you?

Folks, I would love to have events and appearances everywhere. Thsi time, it worked out the Australia did some cool events. Maybe next time is it Finland, or Poland or New York, I don't know. I'd love to visit you all (I tried to make it to the Oz event, but some personal stuff got in the way), but keep your fingers corssed for next time. You never know where we'll turn up next. :)

OK, to the people of Sydney.... a little info. The ME2 release at EB games 403 george st is open to anyone, however IF you wish to take part in the competitions, and get the goodies, you MUST buy your game AT THAT STORE, which I found out today when I called them.

Also IF you want to get the bonus Terminus Armour & Blackstorm gun you still have to pre-order from THEM b4 next Thursday. This is a problem cuz they require a $10 deposit b4 they will hold a copy for you, and they can't/won't do it over the phone.... I tried, which is why I had to go down there today. Now I have to cancel my pre-order from gamestop, which is in the states I think.

I hope this helps anyone planning on going to the Sydney launch..... and I hope to see you there :)

Thanks for the info Pantherr_. I'm attending the Sydney event too :D

As a non-Sydney resident, I'm having trouble getting a pre-order at the George St EB Games store, because of the 'only take deposits in person' policy. I'd prefer CE, but will be more than happy with standard, as long as I can get the game, the pre-order bonuses and participate in the launch activites/free stuff :P

My local EB suggested using an EB gift voucher, as I could tell them the codes over the phone, and make the payment that way. The local manager said they might be reluctant to do this, but it is possible. I called today and the salesperson wouldn't do it, but if the manager is working tomorrow I might be able to ask them. I'll confirm if they let me do this, in case anyone else is in a similar situation.

hmmm i think I'm going to have to get the gift voucher and pre-order it at the George st EBstore.(is this how it works if I've already preordered it right?)

Do you think they'll still have the CE-PC edition ready to order or is it to late to change? :crying: (might head there on Monday)

Also whens everyone heading there? I'm lazy to get there on Opening Time LOL. (curse it i live in the western suburbs. gotta get up at 5)
