I originally preordered the ME2 PC collector's edition at the morayfield EB games, and on RSVPing for the brisbane launch party went to that eb and had them transfer the order over to the albert street store in brisbane.
The saleswoman cancelled my preorder at the morayfield store, put the money refunded onto a gift card, then -she- read out the number on the gift card to the salesman at the albert street store, and he handled the order from there.

So..I don't get why they wouldn't take verbal orders.

Oh Blast! If only I lived closer to one of those locations. But a 6 hour drive might just be worth it for this...

Thanks Movodor, was useful to have proof that the gift card method works before I rang the store this time



I called the Sydney (George St) store again today, and they gave me the same spiel about needing to make a deposit in person in order to get a pre-order. She was reluctant, but the saleswoman agreed to at least try my gift card code over the phone and see if it worked.



I just had to read out the card number and pin, and it turned out fine. My preorder is in the system with the deposit allocated, ready to pick up Thursday 7am



Hope this helps if anyone is in a similar situation.

Yay, went to Chaddy EB and did as told, and in a couple of mins had my pre-order transferred via gift card to Swanston St store. The shop assistant also told me I should be there at 6.30 am cause they'll be handing out numbers in a queue for something. The shop guy actually initially suggested I attend the event in the city then pick up my game back in Chaddy, and I just frowned at him. O_o
